Quiet house in a seaside town
We had a great one week stay at Carisbrooke, Steve and Maureen were fabulous hosts. On arrival they had baked us bread, cake and a rhubarb crumble all very delicious plus they had left us some eggs from their allotment and homemade jam. The house is a good size, well laid out, quiet, comfortable, nicely furnished with everything you could possibly need. The bedroom were comfy and plenty of hot water and decent showers!
The kitchen is really well equipped, we cooked a few nights but also had a few take aways, the fish and chips shop is just down the road. The garden gets the sun in the afternoon and the hot tub was great after a day of exploring. Important to note that to get the pizza oven going there is an extra charge as well as the fire place in the lounge.
We walked along Pakefield beach one day all the way to Kessingland (some steep steps leading up to a cliff top where you can have lunch overlooking the north sea), beautiful clean beach our daughter enjoyed searching for sea glass and shells. Lots of friendly dog walkers and the beach is sand and pebbles.
Days out included Southwold, Alderburgh (best fish and chips is here), Holt, Thrigby Hall, (great wildlife park) Norwich, Thorpeness. Loved our stay in Suffolk and would recommend Carisbrook for future bookers.
