Updated kitchen and bathrooms with Craftsman door and window treatments. 6 fully furnished bedrooms. 1 non functional fireplace, wood floors, 3 updated bathrooms and an updated kitchen. Fully gated property with parking for 5-7 cars, plus 2 large public parking lots are directly adjacent to the house. Property is located just a few blocks from the 110 freeway halfway between Downtown LA and Pasadena.
The house has an Electric Vehicle charging station if you happen to be driving an electric car, central AC/heat, AC units in 5 of the 6 bedrooms, washer/dryer, flat screens in all rooms hooked up to Roku, and/or chromecast. Access to log in for Hulu and Netflix (if you have accounts), HBOGO, etc. Propane grill in the back, and gated parking for up to 7 cars. The locks on all the bedroom/closet doors are old-fashioned, a skeleton key will be provided. Some closets may be locked and some dresser drawers used for storage. However, there will be drawer space and a place to hang clothes available in each room.
Highland Park is a historic, artsy Eastside neighborhood, rich with Mexicana cultural history, complete with murals, graffiti, taco trucks and fruit stands. The house is close to some great bars and restaurants (The Greyhound, La Cuevita, Antigua Bread, Folieros ) as well as the Highland Theater, which is an art deco theater. There's also several workout studios within walking distance and beautiful nature hiking spots.
Walking distance to several neighborhood Pubs, cafes, coffee houses, authentic Mexican restaurants and hipster restaurants. Also, the 90 year old Highland Theater one block away is adjacent to several other historic buildings. And just recently renovated and reopened, the Highland Park Bowl, featuring fresh made pizzas (made with flour imported from Italy) and an attached microbrewery!
Great Location for Public Transit! If you don't have a car during your stay, even better, because your a few feet from the train station. The Highland Park Metro Rail station (Gold Line) is half a block from the house. It's a 15 min train ride to downtown LA (Southbound) with stops in Chinatown, Union Station, and Little Tokyo and its a 15 min train ride to Pasadena (Northbound). You can also take the train to Hollywood and/or Long Beach. I recommend researching where the train goes so you can decide where you wanna go during your stay. Its a great way to get around in a city notorious for its traffic. If you're flying in, you can grab the "flyaway bus" from LAX to Union Station ($8 I believe) where you can take the Gold line right to the front door of the house.
Great Location if you have a car! The house is located in a great area of Los Angeles from a freeway standpoint. You'll mostly use the 110 since its right by the house, but you'll also have access to the 5 and the 134. Being situated close to so many freeways allows you to take alternate routes when traffic is bad. Its about a 20 min drive to Hollywood, 10 min to downtown, 10 min to Dodger stadium, and 10 min to the Rose Bowl.
We have onsite hosting during your stay; Sam, Zac, or Trevor and Laura will be staying in a separate one bedroom unit on the same property.
Please feel free to call me if you wanna discuss your stay and handle the negotiations/terms over the phone followed by a rental agreement. If you are renting for an event, you will be subject to an event fee.
