The property description is very misleading, but the location is amazing! This is one small room with a bed, a desk, and a chair. We live on Maui so the temp of 47 upon arrival was very cold for us and the two french doors to the room were left wide open. We couldn’t turn the heat on because the batteries for the heater remote were dead, but she did have plenty of warm cozy blankets to compensate. I was woken up at 6-6:30 am by Shidas little dog barking fairly close to our inside door, I have several dogs myself so I’m used to the occasional barking but it would’ve been nice to sleep in.
There’s a little closet built in under her stairs which held a micro fridge (don’t bring in anything frozen, we had to throw our ice cream away), and a small microwave. We sat on the floor to eat because it was too cold to eat outside. Although it would’ve been wonderful to sit outside if it wasn’t so cold.
Prior to our arrival we asked to have the pool heater turned on for our second night, thought it would be a nice romantic night in the pool looking over the city, but the water did not warm up. Shida told us that the heater was turned on (and we did hear it on)but it shut off. We told her it was way too cold to swim in and she said her guests from Switzerland like it. Knowing we were coming from Hawaii, I’m not sure why she wouldn’t have told us that the temperature doesn’t get much warmer, but not a big deal we’re in the water all the time at home. I’m just posting it advise others not to waste the extra money to heat it.
There is a small bathroom, you actually enter the room through it. It’s very dated. You have to turn the water on and let it run for about 5 minutes to get hot water, but it works.
As I said, the ad is misleading. This is nothing more than a room. It would be great for one person who just needs a bed and bath and nothing else. There isn’t a washer and dryer for guest use, the owner washed a load of laundry for us. Again, the property is beautiful, but it wasn’t what we were looking for, we would’ve never rented it if the comments and the post were accurate we would not have stayed here.
