This is a lovely 'hideaway' indeed! Up the long winding road (directions are excellent) to the very private house, you'll feel like you're a million miles away from it all, but you're not. Very quiet and relaxing.
I'm sorry not to be rating this higher. There were some discrepancies between the listing and the reality. The TV did not work, and although a technician was promised, one never arrived. There was no laundry--I mean, only one machine still, packaged up. The owner said they were having supply chain issues, which I totally understand, but then it shouldn't have been listed as such. We were told the caretaker would let us do it upstairs, but that never happened either. The dishes were dirty with dried on bits of food.
But the apartment is beautiful and the view is neverending. There is an upstairs unit, but you won't even know it. You will feel like you are on top of the world.
If the homeowners address the issues listed above -- and I'm sure the TV and laundry will be remedied -- you will be thrilled with the place. I would check with them beforehand though to make sure.
Oh, and Duke's -- at the bottom of the hill -- is a great restaurant and lots of fun. Thanks, David and Ling, for the recommendation.
