Villa Fontante, Tom Jones former digs, is in Bel Air's Billionaire row, replete with famous neighbors, dramatic downtown views and is minutes from Bel Air Hotel, Bel Air Country Club, The Getty, UCLA, Westwood, and other local amenities.

The home is retro modern, private with explosive city views, and appointed with an electric mix of furniture and furnishings. Pool and new BBQ on site.

Note kitchens, bathrooms, floors, and pool are original 1970 construction with commensurate wear and tear.

Nice pool, old house
Don’t be bamboozled by the super cute pool photos. That was the good part about this house. The house needs a renovation and a monthly insect spray. There were spiders in almost every room and bathroom, including a family of daddy long-legged spiders in one of the dressers. There was an infestation of ants in the bathroom showers and in bedroom closest to the pool area. Even though there are televisions around the home, only one worked on the main level. There are a lot of electrical outlets and light switches but good luck finding one that actually turns a light on. Lots and lots of issues with shower water pressure and learning the hot and cold water knobs, not to mention my husband having to fix a shower door so it would close the entire way. The kitchen was equipped with all the cookware and silverware we needed but for every bathroom, only one hand towel and two bath towels were provided. We did stay during a winter month so we needed the heater a few nights. Only two of the three heater thermostats worked and the kitchen area was always cold. For a week long stay, I wish I had asked how old the house was and had paid attention to the earlier reviews and looked closer at the availability of amenities like baby furniture. The host was friendly and answered my questions quickly but this will not be home we rent again.

Bel Air house
The drive up was beautiful and location and view was amazing. The person in charge was easy to communicate with when we booked. The house is as pictured but it is very old. Lots of broken things , bulbs missing, smelled old and was not properly cleaned upon arrival. Found dirty items from previous renters, floors were not swept or mopped. Bathroom essentials missing. Lots of bugs, spiders everywhere, in the house and outside. We pretty much had to clean up and spray for bugs before going to sleep. Missing window panel in bedroom, anything could have entered thru the window. I’m offended to pay for a cleaning fee and high price for such a run down house.

Oldest, dirtiest house in all of Belair
I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this property. Unfortunately, there were several issues that made the experience uncomfortable and unsafe. First, the property was infested with ants and had dead bugs in multiple areas, suggesting it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. The cleanliness level was unacceptable, with the place smelling musty as if it had not been maintained for months. The amenities were also problematic. The TV didn’t work, and even when I tried switching it on manually (since the remote had no batteries), it still wouldn’t turn on. Many of the light switches were faulty, leaving parts of the unit dimly lit. There was no hot water throughout my stay, making showers very unpleasant. The biggest concern was the shower, which had no handles. This caused me to slip and fall, resulting in a cut on my arm. It’s clear that safety and maintenance are not a priority here. I would strongly recommend the owner take these complaints seriously and address them immediately. Until these issues are fixed, I cannot recommend this property to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable stay.
