The farmhouse and the property were great. Quaint, clean, and welcoming. We felt at home and loved our time there!
My wife and I and our dog enjoyed our stay. House was spacious, beds were comfortable and had a nice fenced in backyard and patio area. Overall landscaping was nice, as well.
Rodney, the owner is a very nice guy, we enjoyed visiting with him.
This house has a lot of character and was a great place to stay with our extended family while we were in town for a wedding. Has all the conveniences you need and even 2 sets of washers/dryers.
We absolutely loved this property. Communication was excellent, the property was well stocked with whatever we could need, and it was such a charming house. We truly felt at home and the beds were the most comfortable we've encountered in all of the vacation rentals we've been to. I don't know if we'll ever be in the area again but if we are, this will be our first choice for accommodation.
Six high school friends all staying together to attend the concert. The farmhouse location was perfect… Easy access to good dining, concert venue, and I 20. Rodney was a gracious host. We loved caring for the two cats. We became Porch People while there… Enjoying the outdoors and swinging. Will definitely do it again
This place is just as advertised. It is an old farmhouse, very charming and quaint. If you are looking for new flashy digs, this is not for you. So don’t complain if you book it and expect new. We had a great time. Lots of room to spread out and really enjoyed ourselves. The back patio and the very friendly cats were a hit. The hosts were very responsive and we had no problems. I would recommend and I would stay there again. Thank you Rodney.
We had a great time. The house was very comfortable, even though both bathrooms were downstairs. This made it difficult for old people sleeping upstairs. The key box was difficult to work with & frustrating. Thank you for letting us share your lovely home. Oh yes, I almost forgot, we couldn’t get the TV to work.
We had 6 adults, 3 children & 2 dogs, quite a large family & there was plenty of room for everyone. We love older restored homes & this one was wonderful. Very clean, comfortable beds & the cafe lights in the backyard allowed for some late night cornhole games. The laundry room is A-mazing! The only suggestion we may have would be possibly more seating in the living room. Some had to sit on the floor for family visits or TV watching. But that was minor compared to the comfort of the house overall. Loved our stay & thank you Rodney for being so easy to contact & so accommodating!
What a strange journey. Our community was hit hard by tremendous storms and we were without electricity along with about half of the area. We were told it would not be restored for at least a week. So I booked this VRBO which was adorable and conveniently located.
And then, we got our power back! So fortunate! But we no longer had need of the cute cottage. So we asked around and found friends who were still without electricity and could happily take advantage of it. Thankfully the owner was amenable to allowing them to use it and all ended happily ever after!! The little family loved the place and they got their power back several days later.
This charming farmhouse has a story to tell about its history, use, and additions. It’s just antique enough to be quaint and beautiful but modern enough to be very comfortable and convenient.
It’s very close to a little wedding venue, “Hidden Timbers” where a friend of ours got married. As part of the wedding party, this location was perfect for me and my family.
The 4-way intersection traffic is quite loud all hours of the day and night but with the ac units turned on it’s not too bad. It’s a shame that the road had to get so busy!
If you have severe allergies to animals, it may not be a great idea to stay here because dogs are allowed and there are outdoor barn cats. However, the interior was spotless and sparkling when we arrived.
We had two little ones with us and there are ALOT of breakable things/decor around the house so that was a little nerve wracking
Overall good quality living for the price, we will likely come again!!
My family and I had a great time during our stay. The house was decorated beautifully for fall and had plenty of space for our group. The pups especially enjoyed the fenced in backyard. We didn’t get to meet Smokey the barn cat but I guess that means we will have to visit again!
Property was charmingly decorated and inviting. Felt as if I was in a relatives home, visiting. Property host was very helpful, kind and informative. This home is on my list of those I would rent again when I am in the area.
We absolutely loved our stay. We are from Canada and came for our son's graduation from Kilgore Fire Academy. Beds were amazing. Character of the home was stunning. Sitting outside at night listening to nature was a real treat. If we ever come back this way... this is the place we will stay! Thank you for an amazing stay !
Wife and I celebrated our 15 year anniversary and also had the baby with us. Really clean great spot. Rodney was helpful and available as much as I needed him, but let us be unless we had a question. Great location to hit up walking/hiking trails and see East TX antique country which is my wife’s thing. Enjoyed the stay,
