Property was spacious with a few disappointments
The property was comfortable; we had plenty of space for 6 adults and 3 children. The bedrooms on the second floor were quite spacious. The bedrooms on the third floor were much more cramped. Not a deal breaker, but the pics seem to suggest more space than provided. Living space was comfortable. It is perfectly located to the Wimbledon Park station; Wimbledon Park, which boasts a playground, tennis courts, a pond with Swans and ducks, and of course the queue for Wimbledon; and the Co-op (grocer) and other stores and boutiques.
The downside to the property was the amount of ants in the kitchen (some small, some big... with wings). We reported the problem to Veeve. They sprayed the first day, but the problem was not solved and the ants proceeded to make their way on to the kitchen table, the kitchen sofa, and the even on the stairs to the upstairs. When we informed Veeve of the situation, they did not seem concerned.
We found the communication between Veeve and us a bit lacking. We were supposed to receive the house manual prior to our visit, but did not, which led to a few surprises. We didn't even know we were supposed to get one until we were checking in.
Veeve also charged for the use of fans, which seemed strange, especially given the high temperatures that week. We stayed in London a week before and in Scotland a week after our week in Wimbledon, no one else charged for the use of fans.
Veeve says it works around your schedule, but really they work around theirs. The check in process was a bit tedious. For a management company that seems to pride itself on customer service, they really don't seem to offer it. I am sure it was a busy week for them, but when renting a property through a management company that seems to pride itself in customer service, one expects a certain level of accommodation. We found more flexibility and greater attention to detail from other property owners than from this company.
All in all our visit was fine, but if able to do it again, we would most likely use a different service.
