Great location
Hotel is situated in a great location. Easy access to the tube, bar, and shopping. Hotel is average but I would definitely come back for the location.

Room adequate for what we needed. £10 early check in charge so could dump our luggage. Breakfast really nice. Staff lovely

OK. Stay away from the 'old' section of the hotel. Be advised King size does not mean 'king' size. However, the bad is nearly a queen size bed. A true king size bed would not fit in the room.

Old, Dated and Stiflingly Hot - Good Location
Upon arrival, we were told we had a double room booked, I showed them my booking confirmation which clearly confirmed a family room for 2 Adults, 1 Child. The booking references were different, but the lady was lovely and spent 10-15 mins sorting us out. Having been sorted out, we were disappointed to find out we were not in the hotel we thought, when we booked we thought we were in the Travelodge advertised, which was a twin tower building on Drury Lane, however they also have another Travelodge across the street on High Holborn Road, this is where we were situated in a Family room on floor 12 (of 13). The room was very clean, but there was no fridge and it was absolutely unbearably hot, my poor 8 year old was boiling to touch, we spent 20 mins looking for the aircon before realising it had none............ This totally ruined our stay we literally couldn't bare to be in the room it was like a greenhouse. The beds were very very hard, could have coped with that had it not been so hot.

Hotel close to Covent Garden
Location fairly quiet. Three Underground stations in near location but quite a walk to hotel particularly if carrying luggage. Central for Covent Garden, Soho and Oxford St. Hotel recently refurbished. Room comfortable but basic. Would benefit from air conditioning. Hotel restaurant not used but appeared to be used by many guests.

Clean room - no air conditioning.
The good is that the room was clean, the hotel was walking distance to many of central London's attractions (Piccadilly Circus, the Thames River, London Eye), and inexpensive. Kids eat free for an all you can eat breakfast was also a deal and the breakfast was filling. The bad, and this is big for summer months, there is no air conditioning. There is a notice in the room about keeping the curtains closed during the day and opening the window at night to cool the room down. It was 82 while we were in London and we found the room to be uncomfortably warm. The day after we left the temperature rose to 92. I could not imagine being in the room. Also the vending machines were empty and ATM didn't work. Finally, unless you pay for it ahead of time, there is no early check in (they are firm on this point) and you cannot drop off your luggage early while you are waiting for check in.

Good location. Basic but clean.
The room was basic but clean, and the bed comfortable. No nice extras but you don't expect that for Travelodge prices. Some noise from outside, but that's hard to avoid in central London. Staff seemed to struggle taking names and reference numbers!

just a little too functional
Booked 1 night in this hotel just as was making a quick visit to London to go to The Royal Opera I wasn't expecting luxury but overall the hotel reminded me of a tarted up back packer hotel it was clean and not uncomfortable but was quite frankly a little Spartan and some aspects were a tad shabby in places the real negative point was that there was a great deal made of the availability of late check out (12 noon) so I thought great! Lie in and a late breakfast before heading home. discovered at 10:30 next morning on arriving for breakfast that the cafe/ bar closes at 10:00! nowhere was this pointed out to us all in all fairly lacklustre customer service from a less than impressive hotel.

Great location at a low price
This hotel has a very good location. If low-cost is your prime motivation in a good location this is your choice. Unfortunately you have to drag your's suitcases up the stairs to get to the lobby. There are no phones in the room so you cannot get a wake up call. It is a no-frills clean location.

Standards
I've stayed in a few Travelodges however this one was extremely standard and a little disappointing. The location was great and walking distance from centre but the rooms and hotel needs a make over and more facilities provided in rooms. No fridges, no proper amenities etc.

Gone way down hill.
The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night 3 times and we were given an excuse that some pranksters had pulled the disabled cord. A disabled cord doesn't set the alarm off in every room! We were offered no apology whatsoever.

Not so great
After being dropped off by a taxi, we walked up steps with our luggage to enter hotel. Unhelpful staff person sends us back down the steps with our luggage to their other facility after we checked it. She said it was across the street. Only a restaurant was across the street. My wife had to go back in to find out where we were supposed to go. Turns out that it was down the street then across the street. Would have been nice to have be told this. Got to the other facility with our bags, up to 12th floor and into room. Turns out there were no beds for the kids even though this was pre-booked. No phones are in any of the rooms, so my wife went back down 12 floors, across the street and down the block, back up the steps into the hotel to find out were the kids' beds are. My wife had to return to the room to let us know that we have to go back to another room in the original building. She couldn't call us since there were no phones. Back down 12 floors with luggage, across the street, down the block, up the steps yet again and into hotel, then down the hall, down the steps to the underground rooms (elevators do not go there). The bathroom shower and sink drains clogged up. Hallway carpets were stained. I really think the staff need some training. My wife was also annoyed with them. To top it off, when we inquired about a late check out on our last day, we were told it would cost 10 pounds (approximately $15). Needless to say, we did not do this.

Brilliant location
Great location for theatre land, west end etc. facilities very basic- eg no fridge, no telephone in room....but very comfortable generous sized room, very clean indeed. Good value for money ( for London, that is)...would definitely recommend and would stay there again myself. I was early to check in, and for a modest fee of £10 was given a room way before normal check in time. This is just as well, because I don't think there was anywhere to store my luggage, if no room had been available.

For the price I was very impressed!
Central location for my theatre visit - comfy bed and sheets soft and white! Why pay more for frills I don't need? I will stay here every time now. Highly recommend for a theatre night or shopping week-end. Hearty breakfast was excellent value and perfect before my trip home.

Basic Hotel in Great Location
I missed my flight home to the U.S. and the hotel I had stayed at previously was booked so a room was available here and I grabbed it. I was visiting my son at the London School of Economics which is right down the street so the hotel was super convenient. They only had a handicapped room which was fine with me. However, the bottom fitted sheet on the bed was so rough and pilled so I slept on top of the duvet cover. They needed to move my room the next day and thankfully the sheets in the new room were just fine. The room was very clean and quite large.

Location good but wouldn't stay again.
Although the location was excellent, if I were to stay in London again I would sooner pay the extra for a good quality, clean hotel. Black hairs on the pull out bed, a meat ball and debris under the single bed. No duvet for the single bed! No phone in the room so I had to go to reception to ask for a duvet and then discovered back upstairs the chap didn't give me a duvet cover but some pillow cases! The view from our room 470 was of an abandoned building and on the ledge under our window was a thrown out pair of shoes and lots of cigarettes and other rubbish! So no, not what we are used to! Very disappointed.

Awful experience from start to finish
Upon arrival at the hotel, I dumped my cases and went for dinner. When I came back, I was sorting my case to be ready for the morning and I noticed a huge blood stain on the bedsheets. The evening receptionist gave me the key to another room (I had to move all of my cases myself AND THEN take the key back to reception). I was then moved to a 'Disabled Room' with no double bed which I had paid for.

Great location. Great price
2 night stay Thurs - Sat March 2015. Great location for Covent Garden and Soho. Loads of great independent bars and restaurants within walking diatance. Holborn Tube a 5 min walk away. Considering location hardly any noise from outside. We were in a large double room next to lift and thought it had broken down as didn't hear it once! Room basic but very clean and comfortable. Could do with a few more towels though. NCP car park under hotel. They do parking for guests for £18 per 24hours with a voucher from reception, which isn't really advertised anywhere and as a result we parked the cat miles away for similar price.
