We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment, and it was perfect for a multi-week vacation. There were several rooms: a living/dining, small kitchen, WC, bedroom and bath. For two people used to lots of room, this felt sufficiently spacious, compared to the luxury hotel we were stuffed into on our last visit. The kitchen served us well for an American breakfast and light evening meals when we didn’t go out; and bless them for having a washing machine/ dryer since we only packed one or two outfits for the unseasonably high temperatures we had instead of the cold rain we anticipated! The lounge had a small modular unit with a chaise at one end just perfect for legs up after a day’s tour walking, and a tv to keep up with politics. The table served double duty for eating and computer time. The whole place was bright and airy and pleasant. The bedroom had a marvelous wardrobe, perfect for unpacking. The only minor sour note we encountered was a bed that felt like a futon, with no softness for tour-weary bodies.
The location was great, near our favorite shopping on Sloan St. and the Brompton Rd. shops, and cafes and restaurants walkable close. Top of our list was My Mama’s Kitchen, where I had the best Afghani-style entree I’ll never forget, 5 stars on my list. There’s a Sainsbury’s a few steps down the street for great prices on food, both prepared and ingredients for a light meal or snack.
Only drawback: the noise on the street at night from Maseratis and Ferraris racing.High-end hood!
