First shock was a pile of 6 bags of smelly trash inside the front door of the building. I repeatedly contacted the property “manager” about this, but was told that it belonged to other occupants in the building so they were not responsible. However this was a COMMUNAL area, so the property management should all be jointly responsible. I had to take the trash out myself when the smell got unbearable. Imagine taking someone else’s trash out of an apartment you had paid thousands of dollars for.
The property description does not mention that there are 2 long and very steep flights of stairs to access the apartment, and no elevator. This was quite awful, esp if you have heavy cases.
In the apartment, even though we had booked a package through Expedia for 3 people, there was no clean linen for the sofa bed. I had to wash a pile of dirty linen stuffed in a closet. The heating was off and there was no thermostat to increase the temperature, neither could we connect to live TV. One of the managers eventually provided helpful guidance for me to reconnect the TV to Wifi. On the temperature, there was no help. Even when I reported that we were getting sick, we were dismissed.
The apartment is not as well maintained as they make out, but the biggest problem was the slow or non-response most of the time. The property had not been thoroughly inspected for occupancy. There was even underwear from a previous tenant in the bedroom. Very disappointing experience.
