Arrived in late evening of booking, knowing full well there was no 24hr reception. Rang bell and was ushered in to what appeared to be dining room area where the guy who let me in sat down at his laptop and stiffly asked my details. I was then given key and given rough details about how to get to what appeared to be a basement flat by stairs, and though I clearly had a walking stick with me plus luggage was offered NO help.
Once I got down to my room, my first impressions of it was that it did NOT match the pictures given on this site for two person room. I also heard on entering a persistent humming sound which at first I thought might be the TV, electrical device, or air con, but though I unplugged everything seemed to continue THROUGH the wall (was later told by staff on leaving that it was the noise of an electric fan from a bathroom on the other side of the wall whose light had been left on, though HOW this light had STAYED on the whole time I was there baffles me!!). Sadly, this sound persisted ALL through the night AND onto the next morning, and when I returned to the room later the next night (two night stay due to attending a funeral in the area) it restarted. Result: previous little sleep in this room, without sleeping tablet or music to drown out noise.
As for 'breakfast' it equals EITHER, SMALL fry-up, omelette, OR cereal, 1/2 a cup of coffee/tea, toast and orange juice.
AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOU CAN AND ROOM 8 IF YOU ARE GIVEN IT AT ALL COSTS
