I'm never very picky about where I stay as I tend to spend much more time out of my room than in it. I've stayed in hotels and hostels through out Asia, Europe, Africa, the US and Central America, from 5 star resorts to 1 star hostels, and never complain much. So this I think I can be rather fair in my description.
The bad:
-The rooms, and entire hostel, are dirty, falling apart, foul smelling and overall very unpleasant to be in. The mattresses are old, uncomfortable and covered in urine stains (everyone I looked at). The bunk beds are small, loud/rickety and packed with little room to move. You get a paper thin sheet (which you can actually see the stains through), a blanket barely long enough to cover your body (smelt dirty along with all the bedding) and a relatively comfortable pillow. The bathrooms are disgusting and have no male/female distinction, so that everyone ends up being covered in urine. Not too big a problem for me, being a male and always wearing shoes in the hostel, but the females (including my GF) hated it. We simply used the restrooms at restaurants during our time out. One of the receptionists was nice and seemed very friendly, the rest were rude. The cleaning staff were the worst, one actually kept trying to peak under the covers at my GF will she slept!? The rooms are very loud and you hear EVERYTHING from inside the hostel as well as on the street through the cracked windows which do not fully close.
The good:
The location is ok... That all...
