Disappointing
We chose this flat because the listing said it was a 5 min walk to either of two Tube stations; the walk was actually 15-20 min. Key pickup was at a store 5-10 min walk from the flat. The address provided was wrong; thankfully we had a knowledgeable cab driver who found our flat and then explained how the keys worked. Didn't provide any of this information until 48hours before arrival.
It was hot (30C/85F) and host provided one fan. We asked for two more; never heard from anyone. Windows in the bedrooms only open a few inches.
Said it was on the 1st floor but it is really a 3rd floor walk up. Then the flat itself has two floors. Many more stairs than expected. The stairs in flat are painted and have many worn patches. The bottom step matches the flooring and we missed the bottom step twice. Flooring on upper floor has unfinished edges at the stairs.
Dirty smudges on bathroom door. There were pods for the clothes washer but none for the dishwasher. No stopper in sink. Only one dish towel. Cabinet in kitchen has large gap btwn wall and there are dust balls and dirt in the gap. Pans were dirty and very used. No small sauce pans. No toaster. Tea kettle latch was broken.
Front door has splits in the wood so large that light comes through.
Communication with host was stunted. Few words, limited responses including afterwards when he charged us L250 for damage to wardrobe. When asked how it was damaged host has not replied and it's been 10 days. I can provide photos
