Charming cottage located in the fishing village of La Meilleraie.
"A Brin de Loire" enjoys a large terrace with breathtaking views of the Loire and the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Florent-le-Vieil.

Families with babies and young children are welcome. We put at disposal: baby bed, high chair and stroller 3 wheels to walk on the paths along the Loire.

House renovated with taste where the raw wood, the terracotta, the sandstone took place, in a spirit home of holidays. All along to enjoy multiple views of the Loire, the cottage "Un Brin de Loire" is reminiscent of a boat immobile on the waters of this majestic river and alive.

The cottage is located just on the circuit of the "Loire by bike". Bikes can be made available. A child seat will also allow you to take your family to discover the beautiful surroundings.

What to do around the cottage?
Many activities are around the cottage:
-Ballades along the Loire on foot, by bike, horseback (equestrian center 2 minutes), canoe with Loire and Louet Passion or fly in a hot air balloon to admire the landscape.

- Discover the Loire by cruising on a typical boat with Vent d'Soulair (departure just opposite on the quays of Saint-Florent-le-Vieil).

-Discover the house of the writer Julien Gracq on the edge of the river, walk the steep streets of the charming city of character of Saint-Florent-le-Vieil, admire the landscape on the heights where took place the Benedictine abbey of Mount Glonne.

-Wake up your palate by browsing the wine route of Anjou and Loire-Atlantique.
Enjoy the excellent restaurant La Closerie des Roses listed Bib Gourmand Michelin (50 meters from the cottage).

A little further (a few minutes to 45 minutes):
- Discover the history of the Briaud Palace, the Château de Serrant (the most princely castle of Anjou), dive 123 meters underground discover the unusual activity of slate miners at the Blue Mine, discover the friendly zoo of the Boissière du Doré, the medieval castle of Oudon or walk for 1 km to discover the Wallabis in freedom in the kangaroo park at the Possonière.

-The surrounding villages: Ingrandes and its history at the time of the gabelle thanks to its explanatory signs and its Loire beach laid out during the summer or Montjean with its monumental sculptures and Cap Loire, a museum on the history and the village heritage ...

A between 45 minutes to 1 hour approximately:
- ANGERS with its castle, its city center, the David d'Angers museum and the unmissable tapestry of the Apocalypse (medieval work unique to the world) and Jean Lurçat museum.

- NANTES: the castle of the Dukes, the madness of the Machines of the Island, the district of Bouffay, the museum of the Beaux-Arts...

- The PUY DU FOU: marvel at the daytime course and the grandiose show at night (voted Best Show in the World).

- The Oriental Park Maulévrier (the largest oriental park in Europe), for the magic of the place.

Lovely place, beautiful view
We had a great time staying on the Loire. The apartment was well stocked, we even cooked several times and had no issues with supplies. Lots of nice places to hang out and read, lovely base for day trips. The host was fantastic and very easy to work with, even helping to set up a Covid test for our return home. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Enjoyable stay in the lovely gite Un Brin de Loire
We had a lovely, enjoyable stay in Un Brin de Loire. The gite is very comfortable. It has excellent facilities (Virginie provides many quality extras) and it is perfectly located in a quiet village with lovely views of the river Loire and the Abbaye de Saint Florent le Vieil on the opposite bank. Lots of excellent cycling/walking tracks straight out of the village! The town of Varades is close by, with all the usual shops and a large supermarket and a railway station if you prefer to take the train to the cities of Angers or Nantes. Virginie is friendly, welcoming and professional and provided us with lots of useful information about places to visit, activities for the family and nearby local restaurants. We'd definitely consider Un Brin de Loire for a return visit.

Une très belle maison au calme avec belle vue. Spatieux à l'interieur, bien équipé. Belle jardin avec plusieurs coins de repos. La hôte nous a très bien informée sur la maison et la région. Une havre de paix, à revenir.

Très beau gîte au bord de la Loire avec une vue sublime sur l'abbatiale de Saint Florent le Vieil et le parcours de la Loire à vélo qui passe devant. Et plein d'autres belles choses encore. At last but not least, l'extrême gentillesse et disponibilité de l'hôte.

un brin de loire la location qu il faut voir !
superbe location rénovée avec gout ! pour un séjour tranquille dans les salons de jardin exterieurs .ou dans le beau jardin fleuri tres bien entretenu . virginie qui n'etait pas la à notre arrivé est venue nous faire " un petit coucou " tres sympa .la ballade sur la loire avec vent de soulair le jour du marché d'ancenis est à faire ainsi que terra botanica ; nantes et angers à visiter .il n'y a qua suivre le book de virginie pour les visites on voit qu'elle est passionnée!plein de bonnes choses à voir et à déguster et merçi virginie pour la soupe angevine que tu nous a offert ! un régal ! a refaire on a pas tout vu !

Fantastisch verblijf in een mooie omgeving.
Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien en mooi ingericht. Prachtige zitplekken in de achtertuin. In de voortuin geweldig uitzicht over de Loire.

Super week end !!!! Le gite est magnifique ! La déco, les attentions, le mobilier (je suis amoureuse de la table en bois du salon), ... tout est réfléchi pour qu'on se sente comme à la maison ! Même mieux qu'à la maison ---> Les vélos, le transat 2 places, les tapis de yoga, et le full équipement de cuisine (on a même pu se faire un plateau de mer : casses pinces, pics à bigorneaux, .... dispos) Le point phare reste CETTE VUE sur la Loire ! Rien de tel que de se réveiller avec cette vue, ou de prendre l'apéro sur la terrasse La localité est top : balade en bord de Loire, marché local, visite des chateaux alentours, dégustation de vin, ... et j'en passe Pas d'hésitation !!! Allez y !

Un endroit très bien décoré où on se sent bien en famille
Bonjour, Nous sommes restés à “”un brin de Loire” pendant une semaine et nous avons adorés. L’emplacement est idéal (en face de la Loire) avec accès aux pistes cyclables (idéal le matin pour un petit tour en vélo pendant que les enfants dorment). La maison dispose de nombreuses pièces a vivre dedans comme dehors. Chacun peut y trouver un coin pour rester tranquille. La cuisine d'été est superbe. Vous pouvez acheter un billet de train pour 2 jours, 5 personnes et aller ou vous voulez dans la région (Le Mans, Angers, La Rochelle…) ceci pour 45 euros (plus rapide et pratique que la voiture) Il y a un Super U tout neuf tout près. Beaucoup de choses a faire dans la région mais en fait on est tellement bien dans la maison que l’on a pas pu faire notre programme et c’est tant mieux. La famille Scott de Martinville

Un petit brin de paradis en bord de Loire
Nous venons de passer une semaine formidable dans le petit village de pêcheur de la Meilleraie au Brin de Loire, le si charmant nid douillet où Virginie a manifestement tout pensé pour le bien être de ses hôtes. Elle a été véritablement aux petits soins avec nous. L'aménagement qu'elle a pensé, sa décoration très soignée et son accueil nous ont permis de nous sentir comme chez nous. Nous sommes complètement tombés sous le charme du lieu et de ses environs. La sublime vue sur la Loire et l'abbatiale de St Florent, la piste cyclable au pied de la maison, les anguilles fumées de Patrick et la balade en toue, le baptême de l'air pour les enfants, les promenades bucoliques... Nous repartons avec de très beaux souvenirs plein la tête et déjà l'envie de revenir.

Jolie maison décorée avec charme. L'accueil de Virginie et ses conseils sur la région sont un vrai plus. La maison est idéale pour une semaine détente en famille. Que du bonheur !
