However, the cottage was really cold when when arrived mainly because the owner insists on turning the radiators to frost setting and then locking them. The heating instructions left in the cottage folder are really out of date and relate to a heating system that is no longer there (night storage heaters that the instructions say...

"We really enjoyed our 3 nights at The Smithy. It’s very spacious and cosy and well equipped. Good points: Cosy, spacious, warm, great internet, good kitchen, dishwasher, nice log fire, excellent pub across the road. Not so great points: Desperately needs some TLC, back door doesn’t lock so not the best security although it’s not a risk in this area, curtains are poor so we were awake quite early, kitchen utensils need upgrading. On the whole we would recommend but it could be so much better...
