"The views from the front bedrooms are breathtaking. The tea and coffee facilities were generous and the bed was comfortable. The shower was great and the staff were friendly and helpful"

"We didn't quite understand the check in process nor the lock box. We had made the reservation earlier that day and were unable to get email. Once we did and texted, it was explained how to enter and all was well. Worked very well for us."

"A beautiful house owned and run by beautiful people. Whats not like about this beautiful home. I stayed here over night on my regular work trip. First of many I hope. Tony and Chris are such a lovely, friendly couple. The house is a labour of love as Tony said, and anyone staying here should feel humbled and privileged for Tony and Chris to welcome you into their home. "Location excellent. Grounds and gardens beautiful with plenty of wildlife. Cottage quaint but in need of modernisation. Kitchen basic but needs new drawers as couldn't open many. Not much surface space to prepare food on. No where to keep supplies purchased other than work surfaces and fridge. Shower was not great, needs to be attached to the wall. "We were a family of 6 stayed in the cottage for a couple of nights. The check in process through until check out was great. The wifi was down but the landlord was very helpful and apologetic. Location was very peaceful and quiet but any eating places nearby shut very early. The only downside was that the property does not provide for any hand soaps or tea/coffee/sugar so would suggest taking the basics with you. Apart from that a decent stay."

A hidden gem

"We were greeted by the most friendly gentleman, who checked us in, offered to take our bags and showed us to our room. He asked if we would like a table for dinner and invited us to join in with the quiz. The food was delicious, the waiting staff knowledgeable, chatty and even the other customers were friendly too. "

Fantastic service

"On arrival reception explained that they had problems with their emails etc and when they received my realised they had no ground rooms available. They allowed us to use a bungalow they rent out im another village.It was fantastic, hot tub swimming pool etc. The hotel itself were brilliant and very helpful "

Great place to stay for work

"Stayed here a few times in different rooms. This one was different again. Set up in a type of annex little cottage external at the side of the hotel. Didn’t know what to expect but pleasantly surprised. Lovey warm and spacious double room and on suite. Like a little one bed cottage. Road noise wasn’t too bad seeming the lane was close to the main road. Warm and secure all amenities there. Nice little hotel and always happy here. Breakfast had changed to between 0730-0830. Very short time frame. So didn’t partake in the breakfast included. Which is usually very very good. "

A quality, historic hotel

"The Gwesty’r Marine Hotel is part of an older Victorian Era district. It shows its age at times, but the overall experience is outstanding. The people are very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable except that it got pretty hot on the one really sunny day we had (which was unusual for November). If you are expecting a modern hotel with all the newest amenities, you will find more issues. If you want a great place to stay, within walking distance of the city center, and don’t mind some historical ambience, you will not be disappointed. The restaurant also has great choices for dinner."
