Cottage was spotless and had everything needed for a weeks stay and lovely big garden for dogs to run around. Enjoyed sitting watching the birds listening to the river at side of garden very relaxing.Owner was very polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Shops a 15/20 minutes drive away but had Aldi and Tesco’s so great for getting shopping for the week. If looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful out of the rat race would totally recommend Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Peter was the consumate host, Due to covid certain items had been removed but were available on request, the cottage was very clean and well equiped. The garden was beautiful as was the river. The internet was not a problem at all. The only small thing (And thats me) was would have liked a tv in the bedroom but that was very minor. Would definately go back just to see how Peter is getting on with his Hobby. Fanstastic stay. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The cottage is in a lovely setting and although the front is on a main road we didn’t notice it at all. The inside is cosy and the conservatory is a lovely place to sit and watch the river and in our case listen to the thunder. The owner is very helpful, friendly and great to chat to. Cottage was clean and we had no concerns over any Covid-19 risk. Would definitely go again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The old smithy is a Fabulous cottage, at the end of a row of cottages, yes it is located on a main road which some may have a problem with the traffic noise. That said we still found it to be a place of peace and tranquility at this location. Peter the very friendly owner is there to greet you on arrival, gives you a complete guided tour of the cottage and garden and how things work, nothing was ever too much trouble. Sitting in the conservatory watching the river in your garden and birds visiting the feeders daily, what’s not to enjoy.

Location literally on the A483 which is a 60 mile an hour road, not the busiest but can be noisy and a concern with a child and a dog. The cottage felt a bit damp but next to a river in Wales, I guess cannot be helped. There was a problem with the shower going cold and stopping if taps were on downstairs. Peter, the owner, was unable to fix it but was very apologetic. The kitchen was well equipped and cottage clean and tidy. Overall, Peter was very helpful and being next to the river was very pretty, we saw Kingfishers everyday, but the cottage is in need of a bit of a makeover.

Cosy retreat, well equipped with a peaceful and scenic enclosed garden which the dogs loved. A busy road runs past the cottage which we didn’t have a problem with and it gave us good access to all parts of Wales, local attractions such as Elan Valley and the coast. Some good walks also start at the cottage, the owner was very helpful with directions as the local signposting is not too good. We would visit again as there is still so much to see and the accommodation good value for money.

Such a beautiful and cosy cottage.
Such a beautiful and cosy cottage. We had the most amazing time on our weekend stay. The garden was picturesque, honestly it would be impossible not to feel calmed and happy sitting there in the sunshine. Our dogs absolutely loved the garden and Denzil Our chocolate lab was thrilled about having his own stream to play in! Lovely walks close by! Make sure you arrive well stocked with all you need (milk, tea/coffee, sugar, shower gels, toothpaste etc.) As the nearest shop is a good distance away. Also we struggled on a Sunday evening to find any pubs that were open and serving food. The only one was the LLanarch Arms which was brill but a good drive away. Overall we had a brilliant time and would highly recommend!
