Overall it was neither a good nor bad experience. I wouldn't recommend it for fussy travellers but perfect if you are looking for something basic to help you get by. You get what you pay for.

The location was a 30 minute walk from the center sites, and a 3 minute walk to the train station. The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was simple of rolls and cereal.

fine for one night stay
Having to wait on the street from 13.20 to 15.50 to check in, in a hot day, is not that pleasant. Breakfast if part of the deal, but what is offered is really basic (not even coffee as such!) Room pleasant and clean, though unfortunately no wardrobe, desk or chair. The area is just fine, nothing special. The owner is friendly

Verbally attacked and shouted on by the owner
With arriving, they charged the city taxes a new, even though they expedia charged "taxes included" already. When paying cash at arrival, they refused to hand me a receipt, but promised to send me one in email. Then they refused to let me acces laundry possibilities, even though they offer it on expedia. Only after strong demands they finally took my laundry, but left it overnight in the washing machine, without communicating. So I had to dry it myself and hung some in my room to dry. Waking up the next morning I was called out by the hotel owner for hanging the clothes in the room even tough her assistant promised to me to dry them the day before and just left in the machine. I was still charged the full price for washing and drying. When I was about to leave the next day, there was again an other assistant working. On check out-time, I still didn't recieve any receipt on mail, so I demanded a hand written one. This was refused to me but she was willing to contact the owner in order to request the mail. I was waiting for that to happen in the lobby. After I carried down luggage, I came back to find the door locked to prevent me from re entering and further demanding my receipt. So I knocked the door but was ignored. After anouncing to call the police, the assistant called the owner, opened the door, handed me the phone where I was being attacked and shouted at by the owner. She just quit the phone refusing any of my proposals to hand write or send a WhatsApp receipt to me.

there is not a reception
there is not a reception. when i arrived there, nobody is there and didnt answer my phone. so I waited for one hour in front of the door without any sign. it's a bit cold in the room at night time but, acceptable. and I tried to keep my luggage at the hostel after check-out. but, they didnt allow me to leave my luggage because "there would be no one at the reception after noon." Although guests had to check out on time, staff was cleaning the toilet in the morning. because "there would be no one at the reception after noon." it might to be important factor for a backpaker to choose a hostel. I really want you to consider this fact and the results that might to happen.

Close to all sights, BUT not in center of center :))) Quiet area! Close to LIDL and Pingo Doce supermarket. Just a few steps from metro station. Extremely clean! A little breakfast is include in the room price. Highly recommended!

Place is sold and closing is imminent.
Place is sold and closing is imminent. no one was there to even let us in until another tenant got tired of hearing the doorbell and came down. they didn't show up to check us in until after 5pm and that was after someone waiting (5 of us) messaged them. they didn't even answer the phone. place hadn't been cleaned. the owner seems to have lost interest. My advice find another place.

I really enjoyed my time in this hostel, I had a great time and made good friends. The only problem was one day I had to cook in the microwave because there were no matches or lighters around and the shops were closed. The staff Joel and Sara were very helpful and friendly.

The location is perfect, since it's only 2 minutes walking from the Metro station. The staff is very helpful and friendly, I wish all hostels were like this one!!!!
