duplex apartment rebuilt in 2012 and located in Lisbon, Alfama, in the historic area, typically Portuguese neighborhood in the heart of fado.

The apartment is located in central Lisbon, Alfama with the possibility of visiting several historical and religious monuments of Lisbon, without requiring the use of car.

1 bedroom apartment with independent access to the exterior, large spaces properly decorated where they sleep 4 people, composed of 1 double bedroom, 1 living room / 1 sofa bed where it sleeps 2 people comfortably, 1 reading room, 1 dining room, 1 Fully equipped kitchen, 1 bathroom equipped.

We will be available, whenever possible to make excursions to beaches, Belém, Cascais and Sintra (weekends - Saturday and Sunday), to make your stay unforgettable, including tourist brochures, tourist maps, indication of Portuguese gastronomy, etc.

Beautiful, fun experience
This home is lovely, very clean and beautifully updated. The location of this old city gave us a genuine Lisbon neighborhood experience. No cars are able to get to the front of the house so you will need to be able to carry luggage down stairs and walk up and down stairs to get around the neighborhood. Overall we had a great time and the host was helpful to meet us at the home for check in. We had everything we needed for our stay.

beautiful flat
this flat was exactly what we needed. It was in a great location and the host was excellent. She answered our questions and even gave us suggestions on where to eat. The only gripe that we had was that in the listing it says that there is parking available but the parking is a nightly paid lot at the bottom of the hill. The lot wasn't outrageously priced however that would have been good to know prior to arrival.

Just returned from a perfect 5 day stay at Romantic Alfama. Couldn't have asked for anything more. The property is ideally located to explore the city on foot or by public transport, and we would love to return at some point. Would highly recommend.

Everything was perfect. Everything we needed was provided. This place is top quality. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. We loved the neighborhood although there is a lot of stairs to climb everywhere. Bars restaurants and shops close by and easy access to transportation. We highly recommend this place

Don't let the compact size fool you, this apartment is comfortable with new kitchen, bath and very comfortable bedroom. Everything is close and you can walk everywhere. The area is steeped in history with staircases and narrow walkways to lead you to Fado orba sunset that is wonderful. Maria and her daughter are the greatest hosts.

Great location but tricky to access
We had great communication with Maria before and getting into Lisbon. The property is located in central Alfama area but only accessible by foot and thus our cab had to drop us off about 100-150m away and we needed to roll/lift/carry our luggage down a flight or two of stairs to get to the front door. The apartment was clean and well kept. The only barriers we had were the hot water tank is small so need to keep in mind to only take 1-2 showers consecutively or else the second person may run at risk to a colder shower. Also, we happen to blow a fuse when we tried to cook on the stove, boil water with the after boiler and tried having the washing machines going. Probably best to only boil water without having too many other things running as it takes a lot of amps. The washing machine was handy and the towel dryer rack helped us with drying out some clothes but it will take some time to dry them. The beds were comfortable and were able to accommodate my wife and I and both our kids (ages 9 and 11). The tv had a few English channels and wifi worked well. The apartment is walkable to many good attractions but due to its location in a historical part of town, taxis/Ubers can only get you to as close as a 2-3 minute walk from the door (when it rained, we had to hussle to the door). Taxi ride from airport to the apartment is about 20 euros and when we left, it took us about a 10-15 minute walk mostly downhill and down a few stairs (pulling our luggage) to the closest train station (Santa Apolonia).

Property was immaculate and had everything I needed . Luis was great with communicating as well .
Property was immaculate; Luis was super helpful and checked on me via what’s app everyday . He responded within seconds when I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the stove top . I loved that he sent me videos of how to check in from the street , the apartment door and even did a walk through explaining where everything was located the door before my arrival. What a nice touch ! Thanks again Luis !

Charming, clean and comfortable
Our don arrived a couple days before us and due to travel delays arrived later than expected. The host was able to meet him very late in the evening to check him in. We are grateful for her flexibility. The apartment was clean. The beds and chairs were all comfortable. It comfortably slept 3 very tall adults. Since our luggage was lost by the airlines we were very appreciative of the washing machine so we could wash the few clothes we had. The neighborhood is in the oldest part of Lisbon and has lots of character and charm. There are restaurants, pastry shops and small grocery stores all nearby. Short walking distance to the metro, trains, buses and trolley. Bring good walking shoes! No cars are allowed in the neighborhood because of the narrow winding streets. Only negative is noise carries in the neighborhood so you hear what little street noise there is. We found the fan made a good white noise machine. We would stay here again!.

Cozy stay in amazing Lisbon neighborhood
Our first time and Lisbon and we had an amazing stay at Maria and Barbara’s comfortable property! The Alfama neighborhood is the best in Lisbon and I’m so glad we chose to stay here. There’s Fado and great restaurants all around the area. Barbara was super easy to communicate with us, and the property was super clean. Would absolutely stay here again during our next visit to Lisbon!
