Ajuda is a hillside residential neighborhood overlooking the Tagus River. The vast, neoclassical Ajuda National Palace draws visitors with its opulent, period interiors. Views from the neighboring 18th-century botanical garden take in the 25 de Abril Bridge and the Christ the King monument across the river. Monsanto Forest Park has popular trails for jogging and bicycling, as well as a busy playground.
As one of the less-touristy areas, Ajuda is a tranquil neighbourhood - perfect for those who don't enjoy large crowds or loud noises found in nearby neighbourhoods of Belém and Alcântara - which is a rarity to find in this part of Lisbon. Furthermore, it's connected to Monsanto, which is a fantastic area for jogging and walking, and there is also some outdoor callisthenics equipment like pull-up bars located in the park.
You can get the 18 Tram from Rua Bica Marquês, however there are a number of bus stops dotted around the neighbourhood.
From either Belém or Alcântara (Alcântara-Mar station), it’s possible to get the train to nearby beaches like Carcavelos, Estoril, and Cascais as well as Cais do Sodré in the other direction. Alcântara-Terra, Alcântara’s other station, takes you to Oriente which is perfect for visiting Parque das Nações.
Services such as UBER and Bolt are available to download and use in Lisbon.
This is a self check-in property and you will be requested to verify your identity before being able to check into the flat. You can check-in anytime of the day as long as you respect our standard check-in time.
