"This was my second time staying at Raptor Retreat and it was just as good as the first. Our lodging, the Hippo Cottage, was huge, very well equipped and had a wonderful view of the river and the animals. One morning, we saw a parade of elephants right by our window. "The room we were in had 4 burned out lite bulbs and a leaking toilet. When we brought this to their attention, 1 lite bulb was replaced, and the toilet not fixed while we were there. The food choices were limited and repetitive, and the flavors bland. Lots of wildlife, and the staff was courteous and knowledgeable. "

"A 30 minute drive from the Opren gate of Kruger Park and a good price/value considering other nearby accommodations are much higher priced. Seemed to be newer with a good air conditioner and was clean. This is not a true boutique hotel but more like a rental of a large 1 bedroom 2 story townhouse in a gated townhouse community on a hilltop.
