"We especially enjoyed waking to the sounds of so many tropical birds. The house is artfully decorated, the views are wonderful, the surrounding gardens are excellent. So great to be out in the country away from the crowds of La Fortuna but still close to everything. Highly recommended"

"The Casita was just as advertised. Small but didn't feel small. We were nervous about the size before moving in but it felt the right size and we didn't feel crowded or closed in. It had everything that we needed and expected. The view was great and the location was fine. We had a car so getting to groceries etc. was not a problem. Barbara and Lawrence were great hosts. We really enjoyed Lawrence's band practices. All in all a great stay."

"Very clean and comfortable house surrounded by the forest. Kitchen is fully equipped. The dirt path towards the house needs work otherwise your car could get stuck. definitely need a 4 wheeler vehicle. We saw monkeys and toucans in the morning. Very calm and quiet stay it was. "If you value privacy and respect this is NOT the place for you. The Good: our family thoroughly enjoyed the Arenal area. Los Lagos was great for kids and adults. Hot springs,water slides and lunch, all for 100 bucks US. It’s a must visit. "Unfortunately, when we arrived at the property - around 5 p.m., it was to discover that, in spite of our reservation, there were no rooms available. The manager/owner was very apologetic for the mix-up and made several calls to secure alternate accomodation for us. However, that was more expensive and we needed to move from one place to another to cover our 4 day stay with 2 nights in each place. It was pretty disappointing!"

"The villa has a great view of the lake and is extremely quiet. It’s secluded but still close to the main road and we felt like it was a safe area The directions provided by the owner are good but it is hard to find at night. The furniture, bedding and amenities are pretty old but we were not expecting 5 star. We loved Nuevo Arenal compared to the very touristy La Fortuna but there are of course more activities there. Overall very happy with the villa"

"We have stayed ar over 20 rental properties. And this one was by far the best! The house and grounds are beautiful. Patrick is an amazing host! We ended up with a flat tire and he arranged to have it taken into town to be repaired.The daily breakfast provided were also amazing and different every day!I can’t recommend this property enough!"
