The hotel was able to adjust our reservation to a double room at no charge - and this was completely my mistake not paying close enough attention at booking.... "One of the best travel experiences I have had. Xavier and Erica are incredible hosts and people. The lodge and grounds are beautiful. Filled with beautiful plants , trees, and flowers. The lodge feels like an old ruin brought back to life. The rooms are beautiful and very rustic. The beds are extremely comfortable. Beautiful dining room for meals. The lodge is peaceful, quiet, and a short moto taxi ride from downtown. Lastly, two charming German sheapards make the lodge feel like a home away...

"We stayed at Spirit of the Lodge and liked its beautiful location. Surrounded by nature and right by the river. The staff were friendly and happy to help, which we appreciated throughout our stay. That said, there were a few aspects that fell short of expectations, especially given the premium price. Fishing was a key reason we chose this lodge, as we were told before booking that the river was great for it. However, the rainy season made fishing almost impossible, and this wasn’t communicated...

"This was incredible. If you are looking for a 5 star resort this may not be for you , but if you want a real authentic experience with an incredible view , I mean incredible. (This is saying a lot as I am from Alaska and have a high level of expectation for views ) the family that runs the base camp and restraint were so sweet this was one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in my life. Can’t wait to plan my trip back here! "
