"Our extended family (three generations) stayed for a week at the holiday house. We had a wonderful stay. It is a historic home so there are lots of quirks to remember, but all of them made sense. The kitchen and dining area have everything that you need to make meals for the entire family. The hostess Betty is delightful-- very helpful and has an entire binder of recommendations for anything you'd like to do. Her recommendations are excellent as she's hosted many families. "My biases are that I love older architecture. I would guess that this villa is well over a 100 years old and they have maintained the character while modernizing the kitchen and bathrooms. The views are beautiful. It did have a few minor issues that I would expect with an older villa which in no way affected our stay"

"If you are looking at visiting the Lake Como area with your kids, or other families, I strongly recommend Mandello and Villa Ornella. The layout of the house is great, the size perfect to accommodate 2 or even 3 families and Furio was a great host. It was just me and my wife and our 3 young (and restless) boys and we had a great time. The pool and the living room with the amazing veranda were perfect family entertainment areas. The location is great as well - Mandello is close to everything yet...

"Though we had to travel for 26 hours to get to Barni from Australia, the experience was worth the effort. Being in a quiet village and being able to engage with the people in the village certainly made the stay in the Villa extraordinary. We were treated not just as tourists but guests of their community. Our grandkids loved playing basketball/ football with the local every afternoon in the adjacent community square.
