"No word from owner on getting keys in days leading up to arrival despite him saying he would contact us, so we assumed he'd be there to meet us. Not so; he wasn't there. Eventually found keys and gained access. House is pleasant but feels unloved; several lights broken; landline ("for emergencies") was disconnected and hand set broken; don't know if heating system (supposed to cut in below 20 degrees) actually works, There's loads of possible local cycling (boulangeries, fromagerie, honey...

Voisinage tranquille, accès au centre ville a pied, belle promenade autour et a l intérieur des remparts. Ville centrale pour visiter les Charentes comme les deux Sèvres Je recommande vivement , merci a Josiane et a son mari de nous avoir loué votre maison pour ces 15 jours."

"Exceptional property in beautiful rural location. 18 of our family stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed this delightful holiday accommodation. Superb pool, great covered/outside eating area, boules, table tennis etc. Air conditioning in one apartment building, thick walls and therefore relatively cool in the other apartment building. Really super stay. Note for English renters: Towels and toilet paper not provided as we believe is the custom in France."

"We enjoyed a perfect, relaxing holiday at Lydie and David's beautiful house. The photos really do not do this house justice - it is much bigger than you expect - lots of 'extra' spaces with seating, including a mezzanine with desk and futon, so plenty of space for teenagers to spread out . Albert was attentive and available, with the pool being cleaned regularly and even supplying fans at short notice when the temperature spiked.
