Everything was very good, except one of the bartenders. She had absolutely no idea how to make drinks (simple ones). They were having a couple of weddings, & homecoming. I was surprised with all these people the food came out excellent. As for the drink: I ordered an old fashion! She made it with seltzer water! Seriously

Mt. Dora is beautiful and quaint. The boat ride tour over the lake and through the canal is gorgeous! The stage coach ride was very informative and beautifully kept. Both of these left from the Lakeside Inn. Even though The Lakeside Inn was built in 1883, it is maintained so it continues to have the history and charm of being 140 years old, yet is very clean and updated with plumbing and wifi. Love that the hard of hearing are employed in the housekeeping department. They polish and shine everything every day! The food is scrumptious! Lots of healthy options! The entire staff is friendly and accommodating, and all work very hard to please. It is easy to see why many weddings and showers are held there. The only criticism we have is when these events are occurring, parking and driving in and out for the hotel guests is very difficult. Perhaps having someone to direct the traffic would be helpful, and also asking oversized vehicles to park in the adjacent lots would be very helpful. Trying to maneuver around them is very difficult.

Loved Lakeside Inn. Very nice property overlooking the lake. Waterside Bar, Outside seating for all meals. Inside dining room and bar were wonderful. Staff completely attentive and friendly. Just overall, a very lovely experience. Would recommend

There are several beautiful buildings to this historic property and this was the first time I've stayed in the main hotel building. It was a disappointment. Unlike the other buildings there was no ice machine available, no refrigerator in the room, and the room itself was tiny and felt damp. There was one chair kind of blocked by a closet door. Not the experience I have come to expect from Lakeside Inn. Several times I requested a few extra hangars and they never arrived. Ice was available at the bar which doesn't open until 11am. I'll return but request to be in one of the newer (circa 1920's) buildings. Still a favorite.

Beautiful grounds, lovely from the outside. Oy on the inside. Wow does this place need updated. The first room we were in was so bad. Carpet coming up everywhere, filthy unsalvageable carpet that is. Dirty glasses, grey hairs on the bed, it was so cramped you could barely turn around. Had to pay more for a bigger room, which was cleaner but again, wow, does it need updated. This isn’t a case of old charm, this is neglect. It’s a 140 year old building and it shows years of neglect. Carpets need pulled up, paint, I mean just those two cosmetic upgrades would go miles. The whole place smells of mold, mildew, musty. Feels like staying in someone’s attic. Such a shame because the surrounding area is just the cutest, walkable, restaurants, shops, beautiful lake. But it was so bad we chose not to stay our planned second night, we just could not stay in there another night. I question if all of these 10 star reviews actually stayed here. That said, the front desk staff is nice and all the other workers we encountered were very nice as well.

What a wonderful, historic building! The setting is perfect! The easy 2 minute walk to shops and restaurants in the charming town of Mt Dora made it a perfect place to stay!

The property is beautiful, right on the lake and right in downtown Mt. Dora, so walkable to all restaurants and shopping. But because it’s an historic inn, rooms do have a very musty old smell, and the individual ac units in the rooms do not cool down rooms enough.
