Ramblin Rose | Hot Tub | Ski | Black Hills Views

Welcome to Ramblin’ Rose! This mountainside cabin, 2 minutes from Terry Peak Ski Resort, is the luxurious home base you need for exploring everything the Black Hills have to offer. From Nature to History to Skiing or Biking, beautiful views of the Black Hills National Forest and fresh pine-scented air will surround you, and this immaculate tri-level home will provide all the comfort!

“A good place to explore South Dakota and 15 minutes from Deadwood. We had a great time!” – Brianne, June 2022

Living Spaces

“This is one of the nicer homes I've stayed in, and it was extremely convenient for access to Terry Peak. I'd definitely stay here again!” – Mike, February 2023

THE MAIN FLOOR:

Every perfect ski cabin starts with a mudroom and Ramblin’ Rose is no exception! Just off the front door is a spacious alcove with a washer and dryer and plenty of hooks!

Step left to the open and fully stocked kitchen which boasts an amazing coffee station, with complimentary coffee, and everything you could need to create a family waffle breakfast or special dinner party! The huge granite eat-in island seats 4 and the expandable dining table with its own custom wrap-around window bench, that includes mountain views, can accommodate your entire group.

The open floorplan ensures that you can enjoy lighting a fire from every vantage point, and the comfy leather sectional is the ultimate in relaxation. The main floor deck wraps around the house so you can easily step out to breathe in the pine-scented air from the kitchen or the living room - or host a BBQ with al fresco dining! The smell of the barbeque combined with the fresh smell of the pine is a South Dakota experience unlike anything else.

One of the owners’ favorite things is to enjoy a cup of coffee and some quiet out on the deck, and take in the stunning view.

UPSTAIRS:

A ski cabin must also have an A-Frame Loft, and this one is awesome!. It’s the perfect spot to play a digital game at the custom “barrel” Infinity Table overlooking the main floor, or spread out on the carpeted floor for some old-school South Dakota-opoly. There’s plenty of room to lounge!

DOWNSTAIRS:

There’s a second Living room down the stairs with a smart TV and electric fireplace. With a wine frig, wet bar and giant Connect 4, this is the perfect hang-out space – even before you step out on the porch to take in the view, sip wine and après-ski at the fire table or dip into the bubbling hot tub. Just a note, this custom cabin was designed with comfort in mind, all the downstairs floors are heated!

Listing Story:

We named our cabin after the Grateful Dead song. The cabin next door is ‘Touch of Grey’, which is also a GD song! I like the song and the name because it kind of sounds like the name of an old pioneer woman, maybe a friend to Calamity Jane!

Ours was the second cabin to be built in the Lost Camp Trail development. It’s the third from the top on Lost Camp Trail Road so that's why we get a better view than all the others. We purposely did not add a bedroom on the main level because we wanted that level to have enough space for all of the people staying there to be able to be together.

Above all else, our team here at J&J Hospitality care very deeply about keeping a clean home so our guests can feel at ease staying here. In between every guest we mop all floors, vacuum all carpets, scrub all surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom, replace the shower liner, wash all bedding (including quilts/shams), bleach all sheets and towels, and make sure everything is back in it's place before our new guests arrive.

Feel free to message us at any time if you have any questions, and we'd be happy to assist you! We're so excited to have you here and to experience Custer City and the surrounding area!

Listing Transit:
Terry Peak is located in the Black Hills of South Dakota, 5 miles from Lead and 8 miles from Deadwood. They provide extra parking space in the summer so feel free to bring your toy hauler. Fly into Rapid City Regional Airport and drive 1 hour to the property. To get to Ramblin’ Rose you can rent a car, take an uber, or order a car service.

Terry's Peak skiing weekend
Comfortable home away from home. Extremely clean. Thoughtfully outfitted and equipped with all the amenities and extra special touches. We had great snow for the skiing weekend but this did create a bit of challenges with parking despite having 4 wheel vehicles. We appreciate Jordan and staff and look forward to our return to the Black Hills.

Good experience
Very beautiful views from the house. Everything worked fine but the washer sounded like the belt was slipping. Screen door out slider was torn but we had very few bugs to deal with. Beds were uncomfortable but we survived. Overall it was a beautiful and fun place to stay.
