"I will get negatives out of the way first, the listing says this is a working dairy farm however there is just a few cows and one pig. The grandchildren were looking forward to learning and watching milking etc but there was no opportunity to do this. "We had a very pleasant stay at this quirky octagonal cottage. It is in a little hamlet up a long lane so was very quiet. The owners house was closer than it seems in the photos but she left us to ourselves unless we needed something. The lane to the Le Gibet is narrow but is one way so you don't have to worry about meeting another car going up. Entering the lane going up the hill is fine as its on the right. "Location is good, a very peaceful rural area, but close to the main roads. Property was ok, but somewhat shabby. Level of cleanliness was not very high. WiFi was broken and could not be fixed. We were charged an extra €60 for bedding, which was not mentioned in the listing. Towels were not provided so it's a good thing we brought our own."

"After not thinking we would be able to holiday due to Covid this was the perfect relaxing retreat. Everything was as we had expected. The log cabin was well equipped and comfortable. The gifts on arrival ( goats cheese , apple juice, jam and cider ) were all lovely and a nice touch. Roaming chickens and cats were an added delight with some eggs given to us in the week. "A wonderful property and lovely hosts. Elizabeth and Jean-Christian went out of their way to welcome us. A great selection of maps and tourist information on hand for your days out. The village itself (a very short walk) is tranquil with basic amenities - Bakery, farm shop, bar, restaurant and pharmacy. The house is cosy and very well equipped for your stay. We would heartily recommend to other families. We expect we will visit again!"
