"We knew that reception closed at 21.00 and we would not arrive before 23.00 so we followed the instructions to contact the hotel. Firstly the hotel never replied through the messaging service so I telephoned and despite language difficulties was given a code for the machine outside the hotel to issue a door key. On arrival the machine was not working the tel number was not answered. Horrible, we were tired and cold with no way to get into a room. Another tel number was displayed on the machine...

"Hotel was great, modern, clean, easily accessible from the train station and a pleasant walk. Temperature was comfortable, breakfast was classic and good! Would definitely return if needed to come to this town again. Best wishes for continued hospitality! "

"Basic hotel but very affordable for our budget. There is a McDonald's across the street and easy access to the freeway. Breakfast is 12 Euros which is not cheap for what you get. U need a car for this hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Its a good base to explore Normandy without staying at an expensive hotel closer to the D Day Beaches. There is a Lidl a short distance away. I would stay here again if I have a vehicle. "

"We had a wonderful time staying at Hotel Astrid. We stayed in a double superior room and we liked the added room for two people. Easy walking distance to at least 10 high quality restaurants. Owner is always there and very involved with making sure we were taken care of. It was a wonderful experience both at hotel and the beautiful city of Caen."

"Basis ibis hotel but very well priced. Great stop before the ferrry home. We had an issue with the drains in the first room but were moved immediately upon reporting it, no further issues. Good locked car park felt very safe "

"We stayed at this property for our annual family holiday. There were 14 of us aged 4 to 74. We wanted for nothing! The thoughful and kind hosts felt more like family than landlords, without ever invading our space. The location was great and we look forward to a return visit ."
