"We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay at Harkstead Hall. The house is beautiful. Spacious and has absolutely everything you need for a fun stay with friends. I went prepared with all the usual kitchen essentials but found that it was not needed. Dishwasher tablets, coffee filters, it was all there. "Lovely cottage, super clean and everything you could imagine was provided. Kitchen was well equipped, and so was the bathroom with toiletries provided. Great that breakfast was provided too. Private garden with comfortable seating. Able to park outside for loading and unloading then moved to an off road car park just down the road. A great aqua sports centre is literally just down the road, we wished we had time for more, because there were so many activites we could have done there. The village...

"There were 16 of us for a family weekend. The house is fabulous, very comfortable with lots of different spaces. The gardens are lovely and the tennis court was a real hit worth all the family. Communicating with the hosts was was simple. Would recommend."

"This property was basic but perfectly comfortable and in a stunning location! The lane to the property was very over geown and unfortunately my husbands car (which has low clearance) was unable to get down it. But the owner soon dorted an alternative for us. The neighbours ford focus had bo problems so i would say this wont be a problem for most! Access down to views over the estuary and walks from the house was great. No wifi but perfectly good signal for 4g - or a good excuse to go off grid....

"Everything was as listed….the log burner was an added feature which we were happy to use on rainy days. The location was really goid… Colchester close and historically very interesting. North of the city was Constable country… nice walks and interesting info on the artists. South we enjoyed Tiptree museum, and the Salt marshes for walking and photography.
