We enjoyed visiting with the animals and just looking out to see them from our windows. This made a wonderful place for our family to gather and relax. There were quite a few close attractions to visit as well.
This place is perfection. So clean and spacious. The beds are super comfortable. We enjoyed the porches and the outside views, so peaceful. Our hosts were very helpful and kind. Would definitely go again.
This was the best weekend with family. The boys ages 3 & 5 loved feeding all the animals. The farm was perfect. The house was very clean and comfortable. The Hocking Hills were so close we enjoyed walks and exploring together.
Thanks for a Perfect Family Getaway :)
We have stayed here a couple of times and always enjoy it! The property and house are beautiful and very well laid out, you can tell the owner takes great care of everything especially the animals, they are part of the family!! Highly recommend and can't wait wait to go back!!!
We were impressed with how clean the house was and the overall stay was wonderful. The animals were a bonus. The owners were very sweet. We would definitely stay there again!
My family and I absolutely enjoyed staying at this house on a petting farm! We loved waking up to the animals in the morning and the peace and solitude the property offered. We will definitely stay again!
We really enjoyed sitting on the porch with morning coffee watching the animals. I even got a selfie with a giraffe that came up to the fence for an evening visit.
If you want a really cool experience then stay here. There’s animals out every window and it’s the cleanest petting zoo I’ve ever been to. I’m not sure the owner sleeps. It’s so pristine. Will definitely stay again if I’m the area. Super close to hocking hills hiking as well.
Our family stayed at the Tenant House for a long weekend of hiking in the Hocking Hills. Tammy and John are gracious hosts and their farm is beautifully kept and the animals are friendly and well-loved. We will definitely return in the future!
My children, their families & myself met at this lovely farm. My daughter from Cincinnati, my son from Columbus. There were 8 of us in total and we had plenty of space. The 2.5 baths were a great feature.
My 4 star rating was because of the flies. I believe the owners should have a bug zapper or fly strips to control some of the fly traffic. I understand you can not control nature, especially on a farm, but some measure needs to be taken.
Overall we loved our long weekend. The fire pit was amazing. The location is close to all the attractions of Hocking Hills. Have already recommended to my friends!
Such a cute little farm. We had 4 adults and 6 kids (12, 6, 5, 4, 2, 2). Needed to turn a fan on upstairs to help cool it down. It was quiet and peaceful. About 20 minutes from Old Man's Cave. I'd stay here again.

Sibling weekend
We all had a good time.
There was a water leak behind the bathroom sink.
This is the bathroom in the hallway.
Such a gorgeous clean place. The animals were a very nice bonus. It was a group of 5 60+ ladies and we enjoyed being able to look out the windows and see such beauty. Murphy, the owners dog was so friendly and loved to greet us. I have referred some of my friends. If we go back, we will stay there again.
Great place to unplug and spend quality family time together. We had a 7,8 and 9 year olds who have never spent time around farm animals. They all went Into the experience with different fears of the animals and came out loving each and every creature. Thank you so much for the hospitality.
If you are looking for a peaceful, clean, gorgeous place for your family while staying in Hocking hills.. this is it. I don't know what I loved more. Watching the cows go out to graze while I drank my coffee on the porch in the morning or walking by the lake, hearing the emus drumming at dusk. There was plenty of room for our group to spread out and relax. We had such a tight schedule already planned so unfortunately we didn't have time to go to Muddy Boots Farm and know it's a Must! So we will definitely be back and will bring a dog treat for the famous Murphy, the cutest farm dog/VRBO co-host I've ever seen.
Nice, comfortable and clean! Close and convenient!
We had a blast! Rode up for a few days of motorcycle riding and fellowship! Fairly close to Logan and Hocking hills. Easy Access to both….close to Laurellville for the items you forgot and a grocery store….there are a few places to eat as well there! Jimbos Bar and grill is about 15-20 mins. Great burgers! Perfect view of the Petting zoo from the front porch….Host was great as well. Making sure we were comfortable and also gave us a fresh Ostrich Egg as well…. First time trying and was very good…..we have decided it would be a great place to visit again and bring our grandchildren as well. Very comfortable and safe! Cant say enough good things about this place! Till next time!
Our stay at muddy boots farm was very enjoyable. Tammie is a very friendly and hospitable host. We came here to spend a weekend away with the family and did not want to leave. The house was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the washer and dryer were a nice surprise since they weren’t listed on the amenities list. We enjoyed spending time swinging on the swing at the koi pond, sitting around the fire pit, siting on the porch and watching the animals in the morning while we drank our coffee, and especially feeding and petting the animals at the farm. There was a baby deer running around that my 2 year old granddaughter made best friends with. We also got to see a baby calf be born. Wow what an experience. The whole weekend was amazing. Thank you Tammie and John for sharing your place with us. We will definitely be back.
We were in town for a family wedding. My family of 5 and my husbands aunt, cousin and her son. The space of the house was amazing, it was so clean I don’t have any complaints (the kids were not to happy without the internet haha, but they made due). The owners where amazing with answering questions, never once did anything go unanswered. My 9 year old said can we just stay here forever. It was so peaceful out there, the fire Pit was great nice and big. It was cloudy at first when we started our fire then it cleared up and to see so many stars was amazing. We weren’t able to do the petting zoo due to so much going on with the wedding, the kids were disappointed about that, but we did have the dog join us a few times and the deer name Jersey came up to the house a few times, all the kids and adults loved that and got tons of pics with her. This is a wonderful house to stay at, if you are looking to slow down and just relax. Having our morning coffee outside it was dark, and peaceful. Couldn’t have booked a better place. Would stay here again if we were in the area.
This property was a Godsend. Peace is the overall feel of the property. The home is meticulously clean and the bedding was crisp, which is important for a vacay rental. The house is equipped with the necessary items and check in was seamless. Tammie and John were amazing with communication and were kind and warm.
The morning sunrise on the hill overlooking the animals, including camels, donkey, cows, mini horses, chickens etc, was a sight to behold. Walking through the property was so cool. The home comes with a one-time entry into the petting farm, which was a HUGE hit with our small kids. The property also has a sweet dog and a “property deer” which made its way to the back door in the morning. The deer was friendly and allowed us to pet it and even gave kisses.
There are several swings throughout the property, which overlook a pond with hundreds of koi fish. They have food nearby to feed them for a small 50 cent fee. Totally worth it!
This is a quick 20-ish minutes from Ash Cave, Old Man’s cave etc. and it makes for a great retreat.
Don’t hesitate to book this beauty! It’s worth every penny!
Thank you, John and Tammie for the loveliest trip!
