About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire apartment to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Pretty Provençal Apartment w/ Private Pool and Summer Kitchen. Pet Friendly!

Wake up in our peaceful green corner of Provence, breakfast beside your own private swimming pool and step back in time and enjoy the slow pace of life in our sleepy southern French village situated within the Golden Triangle of Provence.

The large graduated pool is bordered by conifers for privacy and equipped with a security cover and family sized solar shower. It is open from beginning Aprll to the end of October making La Soleillade an ideal location for your Spring or Autumn break.

Your independent ground floor apartment sleeps up to four plus baby, the garden is completely enclosed to allow your pet to roam free and your accommodation comprises a large living area with doors to the south facing patio. There's a SmartTV with connection to British broadcasts, a DVD player with a selection of movies and a dining area for cooler evenings. You have one double bedroom and one twin bedroom plus one of the sofas also converts to a double sofabed. There is also a boxroom with a travel cot for baby up to two years. You have a fully equipped kitchen decorated in the Provençal style with local colourful pottery and a bathroom with a large walk in Italian shower, toilet, Mexican porcelain hand basin and a selection of local olive based soaps.

There's a Summer Kitchen equipped with facilities for making your own paella, a plancha grill, a fridge freezer for cool poolside drinks and an inbuilt charcoal barbecue. Meals can be enjoyed on the patio and the pool is surrounded by loungers for sun worshippers or, if you prefer, you can just float up and down the pool in the large inflatable armchair.

Your apartment benefits from a southerly aspect so you have the sun all day long. It's within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants and has a direct bus service to Avignon.

Nestling amongst the vineyards of the southern Cotes du Rhone La Soleillade is particularly suitable for wine buffs as you are surrounded by the major wineries of Laudun, Lirac, Tavel and Chateauneuf du Pape.

If you have limited mobility, the apartment has easy access and a large spacious walk in shower.

Avignon is 20 mins away with its arts festival in July. You have three of the most beautiful villages in France within a 20 km radius and you can discover the World Heritage Sites of Orange and the Pont du Gard or visit Arles and follow in the footsteps of Van Gogh or just wander the cobbled streets and enjoy the weekly Provençal market in the Duchy of Uzes.

"But of course the heart of it all is Avignon with its honey-coloured, rose-faded walls and machicolated towers rising steeply from a country dusted silver with olives, and, more likely than not, swept by the roaring mistral."
— Lawrence Durrell Avignon

Lovely Provencal stay
We had a fantastic time staying at Linda’s apartment - great spot for relaxing but also a prime spot to be in if you want to tour around and see some of Provence’s loveliest sites. Linda’s local knowledge is invaluable and makes those visits so much easier when negotiating a hire car. Could not recommend this place highly enough.

An excellent home away from home
We loved our stay at Linda & John's apartment. From the moment we arrived, Linda made us feel at home with a very warm welcome. We expected the property to be good from the photographs and description, but our expectations were exceeded. The apartment is very well equipped - we had all the utensils we could need for cooking indoors & outdoors. The outdoor kitchen is a fab addition - we grilled our dinner every night. It's great being able to live outdoors in the sunshine, or cosy up inside on the days when the wind blows. The private pool is a great asset and really well looked after. We enjoyed floating around in that each day. The apartment is well located for day trips to the Provencal markets and beautiful little towns. We really couldn't fault our stay and only wished we'd stayed longer. We are already wondering when we might get back there again next year. Thanks for having us, Linda!

Hope to be back!
Beautiful villa which was perfectly set up for a family with young children like us. The children loved the spotless pool, whilst the outside kitchen area was a fantastic feature. The town centre is in easy walking distance with the sunday market being a must to visit. Going on holiday with a 1, 3 and 6 year old can be stressful but as soon as we reached the villa we felt totally relaxed which was helped by the lovely bottle of Rose Linda had left for us! Linda herself is very accomodating and a great help when it came to recommending places to visit etc. We loved our stay and just hope there is availability to book again next year!

Paradise in Provence
Fabulous stay at this beautiful peaceful house in Provence. Nothing was too much trouble for our kind host Linda who's love for the property and region shines through in attentive touches. From the generously stocked fridge and pantry , superbly eqipped kitchen complete with beautiful Provencal crockery; to the simply stunning pool and outdoor vine covered patio and the outdoor kitchen. This really was a little piece of heaven where I enjoyed preparing salads, whilst keeping an eye on the bbq gin and tonic in hand, and then serving crepes for desert on the outdoor stove! The house is situated perfectly for exploring the region, if you can tear yourselves away from the pool. We cycled to town to explore and stock upon a few essentials., and enjoyed the bustling market day in stunning Uzes and took in the impressive Roman Aqueduct at Pont Du Gard. But if you have more time than us then Avignon and St Remy de Provence are all within easy driving distance. The teenagers were delighted to find UK TV and WIFI , and the house comfortably accommodated 5 of us , with the most generous shower I've ever enjoyed ! A truly wonderful stay and a holiday we will.never forget.

Rollers and hot!
This was a very relaxing apartment in a beautiful part if France. Linda was a wonderful host and looked after us really well...nothing too much trouble! A short stroll through the vineyards to the river Tave provided us with spectacular views of a pair of rollers. Our second week coincided with record breaking temperatures...too hot to do anything but take dips in the pool! A lovely memory and we look forward to returning.

Our Favorite Retreat!
From the first correspondence with Linda, we knew we were in for a wonderful treat! Her home is spacious, impeccably decorated, and has so much character. Linda didn't leave a detail untouched, from a fridge filled with goodies to actual washcloths, which for Americans, is a treat in Europe! We loved the pool, the vineyards and quiet retreat that her home offered. We will be back! Thank you, Linda. Blessings to you and your family!

Getaway to a Very Romantic Provence House
My wife and I are still mellow, having just spent 8 heavenly days in La Soleillade. We wish we had stayed longer. All of our fantasies were met and then some. Linda Cairns is THE MOST welcoming host. Her website accurately describes the house and is in perfect, spotless condition. The glass-enclosed shower is huge, easily holding my wife and I. The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with staples, and Linda had stocked the refrigerator for us with many foods and beverages that kept us supplied for several days. The refreshing, VERY PRIVATE pool has glisteningly clear water and Linda Cairns keeps the pool and patio spotless. The outdoor kitchen is wonderful: I could sip my wine, and periodically swim whilst the charcoal heated, and then cook the steaks while my wife sipped wine and nibbled local cheese and olives on the VERY PRIVATE awning-covered patio. Heaven! If you want to dine out, Linda recommends great restaurants and makes your reservations. We dressed up and were wowed by Laudun's fancy 4 Star restaurant with its high-end French gourmet cuisine. You can easily walk into the village of Laudun where there is a grocery store, restaurants, and bistros. Laudun is amidst the "Cotes du Rhone Villages" wine area so you can easily do wine tastings at the many local wine chateaus. We enjoyed the world famous Tavel Rosé wines, which you can buy cheaply at the local grocery. The Laudun-area red wines are splendid and we wish we could have brought a case home with us. Sleeping is salubrious: you hear only the birds. We aren't French-fluent, so it was so comforting to have a native English speaker (Linda is originally from Scotland) available to help navigate travel plans, AND the house has satellite-provided English-speaking British television stations! The location is great and it is easy to have lattes and a relaxing breakfast, then do day trips to Avignon, Arles and Les Baux, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Stes-Maries-de-la-Mer and Le Grau-du-Roi with its miles-long Plage L' Espiguette (the eastern part of which is officially clothes-optional), and the not-to-be-missed Saturday Market at Uzes (morning) and swim at Pont du Gard (afternoon), but twice we elected to enjoy a day of reading and vegging out by the pool. We played Boules on La Soleillade’s authentic Boules Court before cocktails. You can minimize the clothes you bring, because you can use Linda's clothes washer. It is a heavenly place that meets your fantasies. We long to getaway there again.

Brilliant
A lovely well presented and managed apartment. Conveniently situated as a base to visit beautiful and interesting places in the Provence. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped and the host, Linda is a delightful Scottish lady with good knowledge of the area and on hand , but discreet, which is a definite plus. I would recommend La Soleillade as a superb place to stay.

Gorgeous accommodation in a beautiful location
The apartment is lovely - furnished and decorated to a high standard, spotlessly clean. The pool is stunning, very clean with plenty of chairs and loungers. The British TV was a bonus! Linda is a fantastic and warm host - helping you to make the most of your holiday. She suggested a few trips (for a family with 2 children) and helped with directions. The location was fantastic - loads of things to do nearby and the scenery is beautiful. We went in mid to late October and had a beautifully sunny week. I would highly recommend this apartment to other travellers and would love to return!

A beautiful, clean and relaxing home in Provence.
My husband and I spent 4 days in Linda's lovely rental in October. The pool and patio are fabulous-very private with lots of plantings and a covered sitting area. The house is quite large and beautifully decorated-I loved the colorful pottery in the well outfitted kitchen. She stocked the fridge with a light dinner and breakfast needs and was very available with advice and suggestions for dining, directions and having a good time in Provence. It was very convenient to Pont Du Gard, Nimes and Avignon but was in a quiet little town with little traffic. We loved it and would definitely return.

Great property and very helpful hosts.
The property is great and the pool and grounds are beautiful! We greatly appreciated Linda stocking the refrigerator with food for dinner and breakfast after our long flights and drive. Linda also found a delightful upscale restaurant that had a vegetarian option for a birthday celebration. She even made the reservation for us as my French language skills are rusty. The kitchen has everything you need to cook all your meals and the accommodations are tasteful and comfortable.

A Lovely Experience....the Apartment is even better than all the photos indicate.
We were so pleased with our stay at Linda's and John's apartment. They have put so much thought and care into everything. Everything about the accommodation says...we welcome you here as our guests and we want you to enjoy your visit. It was extremely clean and well-stocked and such a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the area. I loved the fact that Linda likes to collect pottery....it was so much fun to use the wide variety of dish ware. We traveled daily to different areas in the Rhone area; the central location made that very easy. And, Linda made reservations for us with local restaurants. We especially loved our dining experience at the Annex....a boat on a segment of the Rhone. Linda even drove us there the day before our reservation to make certain we would not get lost. The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed cooking and staying in for several nights. It was too cool to use the outdoor kitchen during our stay, but using it would have been a treat. And, the refrigerator was stocked with ingredients for our first night's dinner....and so much more. We are so happy we found Linda and John's apartment for our introduction to Provence. It's a wonderful place to stay!

Fantastic ~ Still feel relaxed
I could tell you about the wonderful accommodation. I could tell you about how nice the area is. I could tell you about how well Linda and John unobtrusively hosted us (and John does work so hard to keep the pool pristine). But that you can read from the posts above. Let me say this. We have been home now for nearly a week and I still feel like I am on holiday. I, as many of you, work in a pressured environment, yet I still feel relax and rejuvenated. That’s just what a holiday should be. P.S. We have already booked for next year, so you better rush to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Thank you Linda and John. Beautiful place to stay
The property was well equipped and homely. Outdoor space was amazing. A lovely good size pool which john kept spotlessly clean and summer kitchen which had everything you need. Linda was on hand if needed for advice on local area and around, also for a friendly chat to see if she could do anything for us. Highly likely we will return!!! A great relaxing family holiday would highly recommed Steve & jill

Superbly equipped apartment, great location, fantastic outdoor living with pool and outdoor kitchen.
We couldn't have wished for a warmer welcome from our hosts, John and Linda. The fridge and cupboards were really well stocked and John had made a lovely quiche for our late arrival. The apartment is like a home from home and there are warm, homely touches throughout. Both kitchens, indoors and out, are really well equipped and we never wanted for anything during our stay. The most outstanding feature of the property is the outdoor space. The pool is a great size and was carefully and discreetly attended to by John during our ten night stay. The outdoor kitchen has everything you need: fridge freezer to keep your beer chilled and your ice frozen; a paella pan, a plancha grill and a barbeque to keep you well fed and all this overlooking the patio and the pool so the chef isn't too far from the action. Linda and John are fabulous hosts. Linda goes to so much trouble to make sure your stay is extra special. About three days into our stay I fell foul to the dreaded Mosquitos and got a couple of nasty bites. Linda was quick to react and gave me a tube of cream and later picked us up a mosquito coil which greatly alleviated the problem. She was a great source of local knowledge and pointed us in the direction of many a great day out. The apartment is about a 20 minute stroll into the centre of the village which is well equipped with a great stocked smallish supermarket, a great Sunday market, a couple of bakeries, a tabac, a pharmacy .... I could go on but I won't! We ate out at the Villa Montenesque- which was slightly pricy but well worth the extra spend - the service was excellent and the food was absolutely divine. We throughly recommend a stay at the Solliadade - You couldn't wish for better hosts, the apartment is amazing and there is so much to do in the surrounding area ( I'd strongly recommend hiring a car) that we have already started planning what we will do on our return.

Absolutely Fabulous
Linda and John gave us a very warm welcome, made sure we had plenty of food for our first day, and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. The apartment was a real home from home with everything we needed. It was lovely; clean and so nicely decorated. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the patio and swimming and playing in the pool. I felt like a kid again floating around on the inflatables. We rarely go back to the same place twice but this may well be an exception. Thank you!

A delightful home with comfortable furniture, a patio, wonderful hosts and a great location.
We stayed at La Soleillade for 3 full days (4 nights) and had a wonderful visit. The apartment is comfortably large and well appointed. The furniture is quite comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need if you want to eat in. The refrigerator was thoughtfully stocked for supper (quiche, some prepared salads, bread) and breakfast when we arrived late on a Saturday afternoon. Linda is an excellent host, warm, helpful and very enjoyable to chat with, but never intrusive. (Unfortunately her husband John was laid up and we didn’t meet him, but we’re looking forward to that on a later trip.) There is also a lovely pool and patio that invite you to spend an afternoon or evening just sitting and reading or talking. The house is on the outskirts of Laudun, but it is sited on a small slope well off the road, at the end of a driveway perhaps 100 yards long. The overall result is that you feel pleasantly secluded in a lovely natural environment. Laudun itself is a small town, but you have easy access to places like Avignon (accessible by bus as well as car), Orange, and the Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard. We also enjoyed visiting (at Linda’s suggestion) the lovely nearby town of Uzes, with its cafes and its medieval garden, and the pottery studios in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie. Finally, there is an old Roman camp on the edge of Laudun that should not be missed. All in all, La Soleillade was a wonderful place to stay--one of our favorites in years of traveling--and we are looking forward to returning

A Place for a Perfect Getaway
This was our first visit to the Provence region of France, and I confess my expectations for our stay in this apartment and exploration of the Roman and medieval sites in the area were very high. They were all met! Linda & John are exceptionally hospitable, which always makes a place feel more like home. The apartment is as beautiful and comfortable as the photos/description show. Uniquely, it is both very quiet yet near enough to town to make necessary tasks like grocery shopping easy. We are a family of four with two teenage boys, and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor space for all of us. The pool and outdoor kitchen are a great plus. We don't eat out often, so I enjoyed preparing meals in the super cute kitchen. A car is necessary, but it's only a 15-minute walk/3-minute drive into the center of town. The apartment's central location makes visits to Orange, Avignon, Nimes, the Pont du Gard, and countless other places very accessible. The expansive, 2,000-year-old Camp de César overlooking the entire Rhône Valley is only a 5-minute drive away and well worth a visit. All this makes for a perfect getaway!

Lovely home and garden
We enjoyed our stay in Provence and La Soleillade was a perfect home away from home. It is a beautiful and comfortable home and such lovely landscaping! We had a relaxing stay and kept referring to LeSolidade as our “resort”. We enjoyed several meals at home, thanks to Linda’s recommendation to visit the market in Uzes and the quiche for dinner she provided upon our arrival. The home is in walking distance to a little grocery store, bakery and shops in town. Linda provided useful information before our arrival and was very welcoming when we arrived. We followed many of her suggestions in regards to things to do in the area (a visit to Orange, a walk up to Le camp de Cesar, and a walk in the town of Goudargues). Linda and her comfortable HomeAway allowed us space to relax and enjoy our vacation.

Wonderful apartment in beautiful location
The three of us arrived very late after delays with both flight and car hire, and were greeted with such warmth by Linda and John. We found some lovely homemade quiche in the fridge, a bottle of local wine, and enough provisions to last us through at least the next day. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished and decorated, and equipped with everything you might need. We were travelling with a one-year-old, and while Linda had said that a cot and high chair would be available, we weren't expecting a night light, toys and books too! The summer kitchen was a real treat - so nice to be able to chop, cook, and serve without leaving the poolside...and what a pool! In sun for most of the day, but cool and refreshing once you're in, and with inflatables, noodles, lifejackets and armbands, all ages are catered for. There are lots of books and a TV with Sky channels and several DVDs, though we simple folk still spent an evening sitting outside on the patio staring up at the clear night sky, counting the stars. We enjoyed our trips to the Pont du Gard, les Grottes de la Salamandre, Uzès (great Wednesday market) and the Cascades du Sautadet, but left feeling that there is so much more still to do. Temperatures in the mid-30s slowed us down a little, and we spent a couple of days just enjoying the homeliness of the apartment and the pool, but we still felt we had a full week, and left wishing we'd been able to stay for longer. After several years of self-catering holidays, this is the first one we have left thinking "we must come back", so hopefully we really did mean it when saying au revoir to Linda and John!

Best week of our holiday!
We spent six fabulous days here, and we can't say enough great things about it. First of all, the apartment is spotlessly clean. It has a full kitchen supplied with everything you could need. The bathroom has a great shower, and lots of towels are supplied. And there is plenty of room. We were a party of seven, and we didn't feel crowded. Outside there is plenty of seating in both the sun and the shade, and the kitchen is fantastic. The pool is a great size, and there are plenty of toys for floating. The home is an easy one hour ride from Avignon on the B23 bus through several pretty villages, or a 30 minute drive. We enjoyed day trips to Orange, Arles and Avignon, and there are many more options in the area. And finally, the most important part, Linda and John are phenomenal hosts. We were made to feel very much at home. We had plenty of privacy, but Linda was always available, if we needed anything. We had an amazing time in Laudun, and our kids talk about "Linda's house" every day. Great memories were made here.

Well equipped comfortable home in a beautiful location with extremely generous and organised owners
We had a short week break here last week - the weather was fabulous ranging from 27-34 degrees. The apartment interior is gorgeous with beautiful crockery (and lots of it), and utensil/gadget wise it has everything you use on a daily basis at home. We also received the most extremely generous welcome pack I've ever had - more than enough to see you through the first 24 hours plus all the basics you could need. There's also an outside kitchen with a barbeque, paella cooking pan, grill, sink and fridge freezer. Huge shower in the bathroom and loads of towels which was very handy as my daughter tends to use a clean one every time she washes (teenagers eh). Everything worked and ran smoothly, the all important WI-FI was connected to with ease and the TV had a wealth of British channels through a satellite dish so we were able to view our Welsh football team beat the Russians the night we arrived! Outside there was plenty of seating and shade, (there were only two of us but the apartment cans sleep 6 plus baby). The solar shower was handy for cooling you down before getting in the pool - but we noticed the heat of pool changed quickly according to how hot it was on the day. Pool was perfect, large enough for a swim and graded. The welcome from Linda and John was very genuine and warm and we felt that if we needed anything we could ask without being a pain. They helped with advice re buses (we had a car too, but decided to park on the outskirts when we went to Avignon and get a bus in because parking can be tricky in the centre - 50 minute to 1 hour total travelling when using bus) - and were full of tips to make our travelling out and about easier. Although this is their first year of renting they are obvious naturals, and having them living upstairs was neither a hindrance nor a nuisance but a welcome bonus. Privacy was a given, but they were there if you needed anything. There's separate entrances and plenty of parking room. Laudun is a pretty Cotes du Rhone village and surrounded by vineyards. We visited the Pont-du-Gard, Avignon, St Remy-de-Provence and Orange in our 3.5 days but feel there's a lot more we'd like to do on return. If you can find it go to L'Anex on the banks of the Rhone for food. So fresh and delicious! Very reasonable price for a really pretty well equipped villa in a beautiful area. Highly recommended, and I'd go there again in a flash. Diolch yn fawr am wyliau bendigedig, Linda a John. xx
