Avignon is 20 mins away with its arts festival in July. You have three of the most beautiful villages in France within a 20 km radius and you can discover the World Heritage Sites of Orange and the Pont du Gard or visit Arles and follow in the footsteps of Van Gogh or just wander the cobbled streets and enjoy the weekly Provençal market in the Duchy of Uzes.
"But of course the heart of it all is Avignon with its honey-coloured, rose-faded walls and machicolated towers rising steeply from a country dusted silver with olives, and, more likely than not, swept by the roaring mistral."
