The check-in process was absolutely awful. I was told I needed to contact the hotel to add people to my room, which was booked for two. I messaged the hotel and have yet to receive a response. When I arrived my room guests were told they needed to pay a ridiculous fee which totaled to more than my room reservation, for a room that was already paid for.
When I complained to Eugenio, the supervisor on duty at the time of check-in, he was extraordinarily rude and dismissive, stating that if I had any issues I could contact Expedia since I booked through them. When I asked for my reservation to be canceled and a refund to be issued as I bo longer wished to stay at the property, he was once again rude and dismissive, telling me to contact Expedia because there was nothing he could do for me.
I proceeded to have my other guests check into the Sublime Hotel next door, who was so incredibly accommodating and helpful.
We were in Las Terrenas for a wedding, and the staff at check in made it a miserable experience. I will never stay at this property or recommend to anyone.
To managerial staff at the hotel and at Viva Wyndham in general— train your staff in customer service. I’ve traveled to over 30 different countries and this was by far my worst experience.
