Summary:
Rocky Top Retreat is a newly built cabin featuring a large covered wrap around porch for relaxing and enjoying wildlife. Inside the space is adorned with shiplap walls, cypress floors, concrete countertops and black stainless appliances. There is also a gas fireplace and lots of custom carpentry. It’s truly a unique space in our area that combines traditional materials with modern conveniences.

The Space:
RTR offers 1 Private Queen Bedroom on the main level and a Sleeper Sofa in the Great Room. You'll find a second Private Queen Bedroom upstairs as well as an open sleeping loft with 2 twins. A roll away bed is also available.

Guest Access:
Once guests have completed required documents, guidelines and codes will be delivered the day of arrival.

The Neighborhood:
Our Cabin is less than a mile to Adventures on the Gorge. The New River Gorge Bridge is within a couple of miles and downtown Fayetteville is 4 miles away. Rafting, hiking, biking,climbing,swimming, and fishing are all nearby. Summersville lake is a short drive away.

New River family fun
We stayed 2 nights in the Rocky Top retreat and absolutely loved it! It was a very comfortable, well-appointed cabin in a great location. We had kids, parents, grandparents and the house had something for all ages. We loved sitting on the porch and playing games and watching the sunset. So close to all the beautiful New River gorge has to offer.

Perfect family cabin
We loved our stay at the cabin it was the perfect cozy retreat for our family of 5. My children loved sleeping in the loft area and the hot tub was the highlight of the cabin for my kids. Overall the cabin was exactly what was advertised and we would definitely stay there again. Great location.

We loved our stay and can't wait to come back. The only advice I have is to add lamps in the bedrooms instead of having to use the light on the fans.

Gorgeous Cabin in a Great Location
Michael, the host, was super accommodating and helpful. The cabin was gorgeous and located super close to the Gorge. There’s a small convenience store a 2-3min drive down the road with essentials like firewood. All in all we had an amazing stay and would gladly come back to this property.

Cabin was easy to find, great directions provided and not too far away from Hwy. Informational I-pad video was super helpful. Floors a bit loud but typical for a cabin. Cabin was nice and clean! Neighbor dog’s barking was not an issue at all.

Rocky Top Retreat
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the RTR! It was clean, stocked with starter products and essentials and exactly as pictured in listing. Location is great!! Mere minutes to AOTG, Fayetteville, the Bridge and all the Gorge has to offer. Great porch with hot tub, grill, swinging chair and nice fire pit in yard. We would definitely stay again!

Great location and convenient to rafting, restaurants etc. Host was excellent and house nice and clean. Neighbors dogs are noisy but you can’t choose your neighbors 😅!

Perfect location for getting on trails
This cabin was the perfect size & location for 4 friends to come from 3 different states and explore the New River area. Hot tub was too chlorinated but a quick dip helped the sore muscles after a long day of hiking.

We missed the peak foliage by about a week. But the accommodations were very nice. Cabin was roomy and comfortable. Everything we needed was available. The gas fireplace was a very nice touch. Since it was chilly during our stay it was very welcomed. Would recommend this cabin ti friends and would definitely stay there again

Perfect!
We loved Rocky Top Retreat! The cabin was in a beautiful setting, it was well kept and the host made sure we had everything we needed for our short stay. It's in a great location - a stones throw from Adventures on the Gorge and all the other awesome things that Fayetteville has to offer. The only thing we didn't like was that we couldn't stay longer! We'll definitely be back.

Great stay
Adorable cabin in the beautiful WV woods. Super close to the river gorge with great views. Cabin itself is clean and tidy, very cozy with everything you'll need for a few days getaway. The hot tub is a smaller inflatable kind... works great but limits use to 2 people at a time. There is a relatively close private residence on the same driveway with dogs that bark now and then. Highly recommend and would return for another stay.

Convenient & Relaxing
My 16 year old son and I enjoyed our time at Rocky Top. The cabin was clean and the furnishings were comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. The covered porch was my favorite part of the home and my son liked the convenience of being so close to AOTG and Fayetteville. The owners are in the process of converting the sleeping loft to a private bedroom.

Relaxing Retreat after our Family Adventures! 7/3-7/8/23
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rocky Top Retreat! It's quaint, comfortable, and so clean, and we especially loved the huge porch. We spent hours there, relaxing with coffee each morning and listening to the birds. Caught quite a bit of wildlife too - wild turkeys, deer, and raccoons! We ate dinner and played games out on the porch every night as well. It was a perfect cozy cabin in the woods to kick back and relax, and its location was ideal for our many activities: three minutes from Adventures on the Gorge, 5 minutes from the Canyon Rim Visitor Center and the New River Gorge Bridge, and 5-15 minutes from eating and shopping. Loved our stay this past week!

Family adventure
We enjoyed our stay at Rocky Top Retreat. The house was located in a secluded area, yet very near to the hiking, kayaking, and river rafting we had come for. The interior felt spacious and comfortable. The appliances seemed new and of good quality. The bed linens were luxurious, and there were little surprises, like a bottle of blackberry merlot, that were an unexpected pleasure. We particularly enjoyed the covered porch on 2 sides of the house, and the hot tub at the end of the day. The air conditioning was efficient. We didn't use the fireplace. The owner made himself very accessible for questions and conversation. We had a great week!

Nice and secluded, yet close to the activities
The cabin is located in a very quiet area. It's an older cabin so the floors are very loud when walking on them. The upstairs bathroom only has a tub. The listing stated that there were 2 bathrooms with showers, there is only 1. The wrap around porch is a great location to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. The neighbors dogs were in a fenced in area and only barked when we drove up the driveway. The loft area has been closed off from the main floor so it's a little different from the pictures. We did have a problem with a bathroom light and it was fixed within 12 hours! Overall it was a pleasant place to stay.

Good location but some issues
This cabin is located centrally to town and to climbing, hiking, rafting etc. it’s fairly nice but there are a few issues that could be addressed, like the downstairs bathroom sink not draining and lumpy mattresses. The AC seemed to blow hot air through some of the vents. The water pressure is pretty bad, too. The fees were extremely high compared to other VRBOs we’ve stayed in. The biggest issue though is the dogs that live next door….they bark all times of day and night. They were running around loose too and are not friendly.
