Charming cottage
We loved this charming well decorated cottage perfectly located near the town while a feeling private and its own private patio we lived our stay here and all this cute little town has to offer. Appreciated all the information about interesting places to go on WI, restaurant info and maps. The apartment was cozy and welcoming. As a small senior, (86), I would have liked one or two more hand rails in the shower and a stepping stool for the bed and kitchen cupboards.

Perfect in every way
I am already excited to return to this property! It is walking distance to the charming town and walks close to the property have outstanding views of farms and the Sound. It is spacious and well appointed with every creature comfort of home. It is quiet and clean. The check in/out process was seamless. The family that allows you to stay at their home are the salt of the earth.

The studio and enclosed garden are wonderful. Furniture and decor are chic yet cozy. Everything is extremely clean. It is a quick walk to town, with great restaurants and shops. My husband and I spent 4 nights and loved it. Pauline was very helpful and accommodating. We would absolutley stay again.

Fabulous little spot just a 2 min walk to downtown Langley. It was immaculate! Communication and check in were a breeze, and the place had good wifi and a few essentials like coffee and toiletries. Loved it.

It was a nice place & clean. Could use a new bed for sure . Two nights was enough on it . . A bigger TV .too… The mirror behind it was all I could see when trying to watch a movie. Host was very nice too & an easy check in. With a better bed (- which for an Air B. & B should be a must )it would have been a 5 review.

The perfect gem for a Langley getaway
From the personalized welcome sign to the fresh flowers on the table and the immaculate condition of the Courtyard Cottage when I arrived, it was evident that the owners truly care about their guests' comfort and enjoyment. As soon as I walked in, I knew I chose the right place. The patio is fenced and completely private (important since the cottage is attached to the main house). The apartment itself, while a studio, never felt at all cramped, and it was very cozy and tastefully decorated. The small kitchen was just the right size for one (or two), and even had its own dining nook. The bathroom was good-sized and spotless, and the owners provided extra toiletries for guests to use. Monica, the owner's mother and innkeeper, checked on me briefly twice during my stay to make sure I had everything I needed, which I appreciated. The cottage is within 5 minutes walk to downtown Langley, and is a couple of blocks away from the Sundance Bakery, which I highly recommend. Because the house is located on the corner of a couple of main roads and close to downtown, you will hear a good deal of traffic noise, especially motorcycles, during the day. I use a white noise machine at night when I travel to drown out residual noises but I doubt there was much traffic after sunset. I would definitely come back again solo or with my husband because it's the perfect spot to base oneself for a weekend or more on Whidbey Island. Thank you Pauline and Monica!

Presidents' Weekend/February getaway
Positives: -- short 3-block walk to lovely little town of Langley (cute shops, a few restaurants, nice cinema) -- very clean studio, with warm, light color scheme (cheerful) -- felt private, with own little courtyard, which would be pleasant during summer months -- nice roomy bathroom; good shower; nice thick towels -- comfortable bed, plenty of blankets, crisp sheets -- little gas stove/fireplace (main heat source) provided a bit of a cozy atmosphere -- roomy chest of drawers and closet (ample clothing storage) -- very quiet Criticisms: -- little gas stove/fireplace nice but wasn't functioning fully: bright flame only on far-right side but didn't ignite rest of faux logs. That one flame flickered and fluttered so brightly when room was dark that it was bothersome in darkened room, when trying to sleep. Had to turn off the stove (heat source), to get rid of the flickering flame, which was "visible" even with eyes closed, giving the sense of something on fire (that shouldn't be). Stove needs some repair. Perhaps other gas jets are clogged or something. -- kitchen eating area a bit uninviting, since somewhat cramped and dark; only the most-basic cookware but fine for minimal food prep (very small criticism) -- stove light needs a new lightbulb (just to inform) -- no views from studio windows; to get views of water (Saratoga Passage) and vistas toward Camano Island and mountains beyond, need to walk toward town; being at the studio is very much an "interior" experience, as opposed to having a sense of the surrounding dramatic outdoor natural setting (wish there had been a view, which would have made the experience less closed-in). Again, small criticism. -- Bring own toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc.). Think it would be a nice touch to provide complimentary soap, small shampoo/conditioner for shower (as we have experienced in other vacation rentals). Overall: Mostly positive experience (very clean, quiet, comfortable). Mainly wish there were a view of some of the natural beauty of the area, so as to feel less closed-in, when in the studio. One needs to venture out for sure, in order to enjoy the dramatic natural beauty of the area. Langley and all of Whidbey Island offer some spectacular views and outdoor experiences. Probably a great place to tour around on a bike during summer. Also, some good hiking in various state parks.

Very nice cottage, perhaps the best we have stayed at using VRBO. Great location, roomy space, cute courtyard, nice kitchen and a friendly host, Monica. After almost three weeks of a four week Washington trip we wanted to eat in so we shopped at the local grocer, Star, ,just two blocks away and prepared two simple meals in the kitchen.

Delightful nest
A light-filled, clean, quiet and private home away from home, this spot is ideal. Just a few minutes walk from shops and restaurants, the neighborhood is lovely, with flower gardens galore. The bed is super comfortable and sheets are silky. Kitchen is equipped with all you need for cooking and dining. Any request was immediately addressed by Monica, on site.
