"It has a great view of Lalibela from the bar, the restaurant, and the patio. It seems the property has not kept up probably due to the downtown of tourism and economy. My room had only one working table lamp so I ate my dinner in the dark. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was an average stay overall. "

"This is my favorite spot in all of Ethiopia. It was my second stay at this hotel and proved to be as special as the first. The beds are comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for a shower. The view from the balcony is extraordinary with crows, eagles and hawks flying at by. The morning coffee was delicious and everyone was extremely accommodating and kind. I highly recommend."

"I live in Addis and have been visiting Lalibela for many years - Lalibela is the first place I take my Ethiopia visitors. As such I have visited most of the <$50 hotels in Lalibela at one point or another. Many are lovely, but Asheton is unbelievable. "This is a very basic hotel. But despite the many shortfalls ( like no toilet amenities, breakfast was just eggs and bread, no wifi in rooms, hotel is on the main road so it is noisy) I can still say that I made a good decision to stay in this hotel.
