Nice place but could use some TLC
The view from this property is absolutely stunning, and we truly enjoyed our time here. However, there are several areas where the experience could be improved to match the expectations set by the listing. First, there was no dock as pictured—just a staircase down to the water, so we couldn’t tie off our kayaks as planned. Additionally, in the loft, only one of the four outlets worked. The bed in the loft was the hardest we’ve ever encountered, comparable to a backpacking foam mat. After sleeping on it, my ribs were sore the next day. It appears to be an old spring mattress. The pillows were extremely flat and old, with no extras provided, and all closets were locked and labeled “Private.”There was only one towel and washcloth per guest, with no extras anywhere in the house. The kitchen lacked basic supplies like napkins, pan spray, tinfoil, chip clips, or ziplock bags. Even the paper towel roll was almost gone, with no refill roll. We also spent a frustrating amount of time scrubbing grimy pans with half a sponge—the only cleaning tool provided. If tinfoil or parchment paper had been available, this could have been avoided.
The toaster barely worked, requiring multiple attempts just to get the button to stay down. The BBQ wouldn’t start, and when we tried to light it manually, we discovered the provided lighter was empty. Ultimately, we had to cook our planned BBQ meal in the oven. In summary, the view is what makes this place worthwhile. However, we would have appreciate
