Great house for a group stay
Visited the house with a group and had a great time. The kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub was a wonderful amenity to have onsite. The neighborhood had a 12 hour weather-related power outage during our stay unfortunately, but communication with our hosts was good and we were able to resolve our issues. Would stay again.

Our group had a great time. There were 7 of us and there was more then enough rooms for us all to be comfortable.House was clean and had sufficient amenities to enhance our visit.House could use some updates but for the cost it was a very reasonable rental.Owner was very accommodating when I reached out with a questionWe would recommend this property.

Fabulous Easter Weekend
Our 14 family members (aged 12-80) enjoyed our long weekend in this very spacious and comfortable home in Lake Harmony. We loved the main level’s open floor plan with plenty of space and comfy seating. We were thrilled to have 2 dining tables that fit all of us for meals and board/card games. The hot tub was very relaxing, and we loved our walks to the lake and around the neighborhood. Layne was an absolute pleasure to work with. We hope to visit again sometime soon!

Spacious and comfortable!
Our group of 14 adults from different corners of the world came to the Poconos to enjoy water rafting and waterfalls hiking before going to a wedding in New York City. The house was clean and nice! It was comfortable and housed our group perfectly. Layne was responsive and answered all of our questions timely. There was no issue getting my deposit back. I would stay here again and strongly recommend it to others.

Presidents weekend Getaway
This was my second year renting the Kihle's beautiful cabin in Lake Harmony. The house was just as beautiful as I remember. We were there during the coldest weekend of the year so the fireplace and hot tub came in very handy. The first night we were there it was snowing while we were in the hot tub sipping our wine, it was just heavenly. Our group decided to cook in every night and the kitchen is very well stocked if you decide to do so. We also took a walk down to the frozen lake which was alot of fun. Some of our group went skiing and some went tubing at Big Boulder, which is literally 7 minutes down the road. I highly recommend this beautiful cabin. We had 12 people with plenty of room for everyone. Layne & Lynda were wonderful to deal with, they answered all my questions very quickly and handled any issues we may have had. I would definitely return in the future. Thanks again Layne & Lynda, we all had a wonderful time!!!

I rented the house with 4...
I rented the house with 4 other families and our young children for the weekend of Oct 5th 2007. Each bedroom had enough room for 2 adults and a pack n play for the infants. The house is very spacious and was in excellent condition when we arrived (clean and neat). Vaulted Cathedral Ceiling on the main floor makes the house feel very spacious. The master suite is HUGE. 3 bathrooms made it easy to accommodate everyone's morning routines. While the dining table might be a bit small to accomodate everyone who can stay in the house, a screened in porch and outdoor wrap-around deck provide additional seating and ample room for everyone. The houes is located within 2 miles of a convenience store and some nice restaurants. The lake is a nice 15 min walk or 2 min car ride away. The Kihles were excellent to deal with. They were prompt to respond to my inquiries prior to us renting the house and were readily available when I contacted them while we stayed in the house. They were timely in sending the lease, key, and returning the security deposit.

The kitchen was dirty. We had to wash everything before we used it. The grill was beyond filthy! There was dust and spider webs everywhere. There wasn’t enough dishes for us to eat off of we had to go buy paper products and plastic silverware. We were told there were DVD players but there was nothing!!!!! The little kids we had were so miserable the day it rained and at night when they usually watched a movie before bed. It was awlful. The downstairs smelled like death and was freezing cold even with the ac turned off. The only good things about our trip was being together as a family, the hot tub and feeding the deer every day. I wouldn’t recommend this house to a homeless person!!!!! I’m sure there’s more I’m just too tired to write anymore right now. But it sucked!!!

Great House!
This house was located in a beautiful, peaceful neighborhood with stunning views! The photos provided do not do justice to this home, as it is much larger than photos portray. 12 adults successfully stayed in this home for a couples weekend re-treat, and we weren't on top of each other at any point in time. The couch and the living room was our go-to spot for dinner and board games. This was our first time ever using HomeAway, or even renting anything that wasn't a hotel, so as a first-timer here are some things I learned: --You need to bring your own sheets and towels --You need to provide trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper as well --Make a list of things you notice might be wrong with the house/property. If you feel the need (we didn't) to e-mail or call the home owner's, please do so! There were very minor things that we noticed and jotted down just in case! --The oven was a little glitchy (it shut off with two tray's of chicken in the oven, for about 30 minutes before someone noticed) and was pretty dirty (bottom wasn't cleaned in a while, so burnt smell was pretty strong). But nonetheless, we were all fed and happy in the end! Thanks for a great rental house, Layne! We are already talking about when our next couple's weekend will be!

Rafting getaway
Lake Harmony location was perfect for us. The inside of home was clean and everything was comfortable. AC and hot water was great. Notified the host that the dryer (laundry) was not working but wasnt a big issue for us (she responded quickly). Hot tub was great for a small crew it was clean and treated. Only concern we had was to outside deck and stairs. Just a general cleanup of leaves and spider webs on the deck.. 10 min with a leaf blower.. Great weekend

There were a few things that I would like to mention about this property. The first thing is when we drove up there was garbage littered in front of the driveway. I text the property owner/ Manager and he called me. After me telling him about the garbage, he was very nonchalant about it and said well maybe I could get In a few days. Then decided to go out and clean it myself. I then texted him the next day because the TVs were not functioning nor were the remote controls. No response. Refrigerator is broken, and the decor of the home is very outdated. The one thing that I can say about the property is that it is spacious.

We had 14 people staying in the house, including two babies and we had enough room for everyone, enjoyed the central air , the set up in the great room was well done. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the screened in porch and the deck. The closeness to the lake was also a major plus for us

The owners were very accommodating when issues arose (the beach passes were missing, but he handled it quickly and new passes were waiting for us when we got to the beach!) A few drawbacks: some of the beds were pretty uncomfortable, and we had the fire alarm go off twice while we were there, but overall we had a great time!

Spacious and photos are accurate
The home is spacious and set in a beautiful neighborhood, where we were delighted to see the local wildlife including a bear (he's a BIG one!) and a few deer. The kitchen stove does need to be updated as we could not get the oven light to go off and the stove coils are not level making cooking difficult. There are 5 nice sized bedrooms and 3 full baths with plenty of hot water for everyone. Be aware you do need to take your own sheets and towels, and there is no foosball table as advertised. Also, be very careful with the pool table as it does say moving it will break the legs. It slides easily if you lean even a little to make a shot (no bridge for reach). Also, if you are looking for any privacy, everything can be heard through the floors (snoring!) The response to a March review said that the mattresses were replaced, but there were some concerning stains and the master bed is very low, with a very, very soft mattress. I also read where the floors were replaced. The floors are really nice and there is room for everyone to sit. I like the open floor plan where those relaxing can talk to those cooking. The tv is quite far from the sofa, so if anyone has vision problems, this could be a concern. Thanks for having us!

Great for a weekend escape in Lake Harmony
The renting process was easy and the homeowner responded quickly when I reached out with a question shortly after checking in. Overall the home was great and matched our expectations for renting a home in Lake Harmony. It easily fit the 10 people in our group with plenty of space both inside and out. Check-in and checkout directions were clear. Since we were only there for a weekend, we didn't heavily use the appliances, but we didn't have any issues with what we did use. The hot tub was in great condition and was enjoyed by all after our days spent rafting near Jim Thorpe and enjoying other outdoor activities in the area.

Great location. Our group had a great time in this house. It was perfect. Plenty of space and loved the sleeping arrangements being on three separate floors. The living room and kitchen space was awesome. The appliances were functional but could have been cleaner. Hot tub was perfect .

Needs several updates
Overall our weekend trip was fine but if we had to stay anymore than 2 days I don’t think we could have comfortably stayed at this rental. The owner was extremely nice and was readily available when I had questions but as far as the home itself it needs major updates. The grill was unusable it was so dirty looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. The oven inside worked when it wanted too and the oven light would randomly turn on without being touched which to me seems like a safety hazard. There were several questionable stains on the master bed. Unnecessary throw rugs on top of the carpets that each of us tripped over the entire weekend. Overall this home needs a good and deep clean and new appliances. As stated originally we enjoyed our stay but I will not be renting again due to how outdated it is and the condition of some of the bedrooms.

Family Weekend Ski Trip
The location of the property was beautiful. At night you can see the slopes of Big Boulder. The area around Lake Harmony was gorgeous. The house was spacious. Things that could be improved were the rugs. There are area rugs over old rugs that we tripped over all weekend. It could use a fresh coat of paint in every room and a good deep cleaning. The pool table was not level. We did have a great time!
