• The neighborhood has a strict no-party / noise hours rule. Any group violating house rules and/or number of guests will lose their security deposit as homeowners are subject to fines. Number of guests pertains to any time of day / simply- the maximum limit at any one point in time, not just the amount of people sleeping. Guests must understand that this is a s for safety and to adhere to all rules. For example - We have been asked in the past if it is ok to have a wedding and “just 24 people would be there for the wedding during the day” (this would not be allowed as it violates the number of guests / vehicles).

Beautiful rustic getaway
This rental was found to be as advertised. We have actually stayed here several times....never disappointed. We have hosted large groups and it is ideal for entertaining. Perfect for families as we were able to have the children upstairs watching movies while we played in the game room on the lower level. It even provided a surprise snowstorm when we stayed there this past March lol. We enjoyed the sheltered hot tub while the snow was falling.

Great house for a family. Plenty to do.
The property was as advertised. Visited over Christmas Holidays. Best feature was the game room. The upstairs great room was recently updated and very comfortable. Great TV over fireplace, big dining room table and well stocked kitchen. The bedrooms were warm and comfortable. Some parts of the house are a bit rustic but everything works. Wildlife all around. Close to restaurants and ski areas. Hosts were accommodating and communicated well. Overall, we had a great stay!

We booked this place over Columbus Day weekend as it was fairly equidistant for 5 HS friends reuniting. We're pretty low maintenance in general, but Tim and BJ made sure that we were all set up for any activities or reservations that we may desire. I'm fairly sure that we'll all be buying shuffleboard tables for our houses to practice for the next get together. Yes there are leaves and spiders and debris here and there, but it's the woods and that's kinda the point. Very happy with the stay and would definitely recommend.

My family and I had booked 3 night at the bear hug chalet , overall experience was ok , great location , helpful host , just the cleaning company need to change , spider web and dust accumulated on the night stand and lamp , closet in each room not use able , fill with old and unfuld blanket , one of them even have 3 dirty vacuum. surprise surprise !!

Beautiful chalet - The perfect Pocono getaway !
Let me start by saying that this is the quintessential chalet that has everything to make it the perfect getaway. Perched on top of the hill, it has a large deck with beautiful views of the valley and Lake Harmony below. The location is the best part about this property - Lake Harmony is the perfect place to be in the Poconos as it is in the middle of everything. You are within 15-30 minutes access to most major attractions in the Poconos and only 5 minutes from Jack Frost - Big Boulder ski resorts. We got lucky and had 5 inches of snow on Xmas eve - and enjoyed the perfect white Christmas. Being so close to Big Boulder allowed us to be first in line for Snow Tubing at the ski resort. The Chalet has all modern conveniences to make your stay comfortable and keep you entertained. The icing on the cake was the brand new hot tub with bubble jets and LED lights. The owner was so kind as to instruct cleaning staff to keep the hot tub ready for use upon check-in. It usually take 3-4 hours for hot tubs to heat up and to have it ready for use was so awesome after nearly 3 hours of travel. Trust me, a hot tub experience in -5 degrees F temperature is like heaven on earth. A wood burning fireplace, large beautiful deck and a pool table complete the chalet experience. The property was thoroughly clean and the place was perfectly in order upon arrival. The owner was very polite, soft spoken, nice and accommodating during the negotiations and gave very helpful tips on dining and activities in the area. All in all, a wonderful experience. Looking forward to renting the property again during the summer months.

Needs a little TLC
Let me start off by saying the property has a ton of sleeping space and hosts a lot of people. The beds were comfortable enough. The outlets were loose at least in upstairs bedrooms made it hard for things to stay plugged in. First experience we couldn’t find the TV remotes. Called property management they said we could watch TV at local sports bar. After digging we found them in the pull out sofa. The batteries were dead. They said they would reimburse us if we bought some. There was an old water bottle behind sofa and dust on mantle so cleaning was surface. The pool sticks were worn with no chalk, the grill had no gas but they came out and replaced it, the hot tub smelled like mildew but they had it serviced while we were there. Lots of little things I think could have been checked prior to our stay. The TV has no cable and the streaming upstairs is very limited without an “add app” button. So no no Netflix no Hulu no YouTube tv just some very odd streaming apps. Inside the spice cabinet was some old open jelly and the sugar hard as a rock and spices spilled in the cabinet hence the cleaning. The firepit was down a small sloped hill but no light to really see getting down there so that was always a little scary. Cookware was old and eggs stuck to pan. The outside lamps had huge thick cobwebs that wrapped around each light. The property management or whoever we spoke to was very nice and apologetic but I wouldn’t stay again. Everything wasold and worn but good location.

Owners are not easy to reach, especially with problems during our stay.
Visited this home at the end of July 2021. Had lots of questions prior to visiting the home, and after many phone calls and emails, unfortunately we had a lot of trouble getting a response from the owners. They seem to be very nice when you get ahold of them, but good luck trying to do so. We were lured into this house by its location to Lake Harmony, its ability to sleep 12, and their generous offer of giving a discount to first responders, doctors and educators. In our group, we had a few teachers and an MD, so this was a nice offering. However, even after sending proof of employment as a teacher, the owners still haven't submitted this discount. They've ignored the topic practically every time we emailed about it. The house itself is moderately sized, and has a number of decently spaced bedrooms. However, as it is a rental property, the owners were very cheap on things like hollow body doors and sub-par doorknobs. (bedrooms and bathrooms) We know this because one of the doorknobs locked up and prevented two of us from getting out of the room for close to 30 minutes. After we finally unscrewed the broken door knob, and pushed the door in, we were able to get out. We tried to notify the owners as soon as possible, and they ignored our messages. Just to add insult to injury, not only did the owner NOT respond to us, or even email to see if everyone was ok, but they sent me a bill for a new door. Unbelievable!! Also, the owners have digital locks installed on the exterior doors, and they only provide the renters with the code for the bottom lock. When we arrived back from a day trip, the top lock had tripped somehow, and we were locked out of the house. Again, after notifying the owners, there was no response. As far as the constant inability to communicate, the owners claimed there were medical issues running through the family, which prevented them from responding to any messages. However, the owners were extremely difficult to reach prior to our arrival, so I'm not so sure how applicable this is to our stay. Long story short, this was a VERY expensive stay for two nights, and I appreciate the owners seem like a nice husband and wife. However, I would think pretty hard about spending lots of money on a rental like this where the owners can just disappear when you need them to respond.

Great Experience
From booking to arrival back home, this was a wonderful experience. The house was perfect for our family trip to celebrate my birthday. There was plenty of room, the house was stocked with all the kitchen necessities for cooking meals and the pool table and fooseball games were a lot of fun on a rainy day! The owners were FANTASTIC and very friendly. They made great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. They even surprised Me at the restaurant with a slice of amazing carrot cake on my birthday! Very thoughtful and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our time in their home.

Terrific Getaway!
This house was just as advertised. It had enough room for our whole group and fun activities at the house to keep us entertained. We loved the game room, hot tub, and fire pit. We did two excellent hikes and hired a boat for tubing and wake-boarding. The house was comfortable and we had all the kitchen items needed to cook three meals a day. The community is inviting and friendly and we loved getting to know Lake Harmony. Our communication with Tim and Breanna was simple, easy and very quick. They helped us prep for the trip and gave us ideas for activities. Perfect way to escape for a few days and would go back again!

Boys Weekend
Great weekend away with the fellas! Property was perfect for a getaway near the lake. We really enjoyed the game room and hot tub. Rooms were good size and common area great for hanging out. Tim the owner is very nice and excellent to deal with. Would recommend again for sure.

When I first arrived , I entered the downstairs bathroom to find only one lightbulb working out of six. Somewhat hard to see. I called to see if bulbs were available in the house so I could replace them and was told they would call the cleaning people but never received lightbulbs. We showered in the dim lit bathroom. Arriving August 1, expecting air conditioning in the rental property, I was very surprised to find there were only 2 window units in the upstairs bedrooms. It was hot out and the temperature was 89 degrees downstairs where the game room and 2 bedrooms were located !! This was nit what was listed on the rental site and definitely not what I paid for. When I questioned the air conditioning I wax told to open the windows at night to let the cool air in and many of the windows did not have screens in or just were unable to be opened. Again, not what I paid for. When I tried to use the fan in the living room to try and blow cooler air downstairs it had a blade broken off and was not operational. It was very uncomfortable for my family members that had to sleep downstairs! The trellis that was supposed to be around the hot tub was half torn Dow and thrown all over the ground which I felt was a safety hazard for my 4 and 6 year old grandsons. There was a broken window next to the sliding glass door leading to the deck, another safety hazard. On the website is listed as having a community pool which is false information, I was told there is a lake, no pool! The refrigerator was not operating properly and we had to use coolers and ice for 1 1/2 days, which was difficult with food and drinks for 14. Tim did send a repairman out on Saturday and the repairman spent 3-4 hours with us. That situation was corrected . My family and I departed early due to the lack of air conditioning . The cost of this rental was not what it was promoted as. When I called and texted the owners on Sunday before departing, I received no response. I just don’t want other families to find themselves in this situation, it was very embarrassing to have family so uncomfortable. I had taken pictures but unfortunately this review site does not allow for posting of pictures. I did file a report with VRBO regarding my experience. Just an FYI, although I did not know you could call VRBO within the first 12 hours if conditions were unacceptable and they would refund your money and provide you with a new rental in the area. Good to know for future use. Ellen

Weekend with Friends
A group of 10 of us stayed in the house for the weekend. Property owner and manager made the entire process seamless - from rental, to check in / out, to any questions while we were there. Listing is true to the property. In a great area of the Poconos with great accessibility to the nearby lake, restaurants, and casino. Would be happy to stay here again.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
LOVE this Chalet! It was right in the heart of where we wanted to be in Lake Harmony. Only minutes to Big Boulder, Perfect for our Ski Weekend. The GAME room was entertainment for everyone. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. I also enjoyed all the art and decor throughout the house - a nice updated mountain home feel. We LOVE the owners Tim & Bree! They were so amazing giving us recommendations about nearby Fun Things To Do and gave us all of their FAVORITE restaurants - Plus all the DETAIL info on the house, we knew exactly what we were going to have at the home way before our vacation. Highly Recommended we will Definitely be staying here again for next years ski trip and we're going to add a summertime trip to enjoy the Lake!

Great house! Great owners! Beautiful location!
Spent a few days here after Christmas. The property is room, well maintained and in great shape. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is updated and the hot tub is clean. Great playroom downstairs and easy place to settle in. Stayed warm, despite it being 5 degrees out. Great recommendations from the owner on local restaurants. Close to skiing, waterpark and more. Super fun. Highly recommend!

The chalet was recently updated, central to everything and very entertaining
My friends and I came here for a weekend to celebrate a bachelor party. I was the best man and staying at the Bear Hug Chalet made me look like a genius. To start, Tim the owner was very attentive and helpful throughout the process. He would regularly call or email to make sure we were all set. This included thorough instructions on how to get to and get in the property. He also provided excellent suggestions for outdoor activities, dining and nightlife. The chalet was the perfect size with the amount of sleeping space at this property (7 total guys). When we weren't out and back at the property, the game room kept everyone entertained and competitive. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, the hot tub is a nice touch and the deck is huge for everyone to hang out on. I would highly recommend this property. It helped make a memorable weekend.

Bear Hugs Chalet is Awesome!
Bear Hugs Chalet was the perfect getaway for our college reunion. The house ended up being much nicer than the photos and we always appreciate the detail that goes into making sure the home is very clean. We had rented this same Chalet in 2015 then Tim closed it down for a year to remodel and the upgrades were awesome. We had 12 people and the games kept everyone occupied as 4 people can play shuffleboard while 4 shoot pool and 4 play foosball. The games are completely top-notch, super sweet for a mountain rental. The hot tub seats 6 which we never had that many in because the guys and girls ended up splitting up throughout the week as we played Paintball at Skirmish while the girls went to the spa for massages and whatever else girls get done. The kitchen was very nice with brand new everything from pots to every appliance which also seem almost too nice for a mountain Chalet. The deck is massive which is nice for grilling out and watching all the wildlife, it is also super private with no homes below the property. The property is actually quite large, Tim said it's like an acre but it seems larger because we can't see any homes below his house. We walked home from the clubs and restaurants, Big Boulder is 2 minutes away and Split Rock Golf Courses are just on the other side of the lake. We already booked for one of the races at Pocono Speedway as we're huge into NASCAR and we're going to mountain bike that same week. He has Lakefront access for boating and playing beach volleyball as well as swimming which we enjoyed the second to last time we rented. No one is more helpful and he gave us a repeat renter discount which was cool because his rates are already more fair than the rest of the homes in the same area. We'll be back, 5 stars for sure!

Lake Harmony Retreat
This Lake Harmony vacation home was amazing! My girlfriend and I were looking for a quiet place to get away and just enjoy the mountains. When we arrived the hot tub was clean and ready to go which was a huge bonus considering the traveling we had to do. The inside of the home was very clean and well kept. All we had to do was drop our bags, kick our feet back and relax! Fantastic game room downstairs, we played pool and shuffle board and everything was maintained very well which was great because a lot of rental homes are missing pool balls, sticks etc.....We reached out to the owner for recommendations on where we should eat and he picked the phone right up and gave us two restaurants without hesitation. I would recommend this home to couples looking for a retreat, skiers looking to be close to the mountain or quite frankly anybody who wants an easy and affordable getaway in the Pocono Mountains. Thanks Tim!!!!!!!!

This picky operating room nurse actually unwound in the view of the lake, mountain, and serenity. The organization within the home, brought a sense of compassion and peace from the internal to the now.It is good to be able to relax away from the hectic work scene of patient concerns for safety and reliability upon us.Leaving the OR is akin to get off from a merry go round, and walking in concentric circles before being able to go straight again.Being in this environment of absolute peace and order, actually was therapeutic.Clean surroundings, calm, quiet, and ability to turn away from the exterior world and to find the interior, is the basis for Ignatian Exercises and to reflect, which is a gift.
