Rocky Rose is a special little cabin that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. Well-equipped with everything we needed. The cabin stayed cool during the day and the deck was a pleasure to relax on. It was great to get out of the heat from our home city and enjoy all that Lake City has to offer. Everything was just right at Rocky Rose.
This is the cutest little cabin ever! We felt very comfortable with the accommodations. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and also used the grill outside. Everything looked very clean. It’s located just a block (or so) from the Alpine Loop where we took the Jeep/OHV trails. Loved Lake City and would love to come back.
There were four of us staying in this quaint realistic looking cabin.
We all loved staying at Rocky Rose historical
cabin, updated, clean, and with in walking distance of most of the restaurants and shops.
Tannah was very helpful and we were able to move in earlier than expected because of her going out of her way to have the cabin ready before the normal check in time.
My wife and I slept on the Futon and found it quite comfortable.
Would definitely stay there again and I hope it would be soon as we loved Lake City and the surrounding hiking trails and lakes.
Deer in front yard & great front porch made our stay simply wondeerful! Cabin was just as advertised with contactless check-in and comfortable everything. Very clean & restful. Blooming lilacs were blissfully aromatic. Only downsides were continual wasps inside cabin, no AC & sporadic restaurants that changed hours unpredictably. We were glad we brought microwavable food. We would definitely stay again! Next time we will bring an extra fan because open doors and screens aren't wise with cats & would bring more food (if it is before season is in full swing). Tannah was a great host!
This was our 3rd trip to Lake City, and the Rocky Rose Cottage was by far our favorite stay! The cabin is cozy and perfect for a couple's getaway. Do NOT underestimate the cooling power of the vintage Frigidaire. Lol we joked that it works better than any current refrigerator on the market or within the last 30 years. Tannah was very quick to respond with any questions I had. Check in and check out were a breeze and the cabin was VERY clean. It is in a wonderful location, just a block away from downtown. It also has a beautiful deck perfect for sitting or grilling. We would love to stay there again!
I would love to know the full story of this property, as it appeared to be several cabins put together, but finished beautifully inside. It is walking distance to the downtown area with shops and restaurants. Property manager is right next door, so that is handy if needed during the day. Our only complaint was that there was only a small bit left on the toilet paper roll and no extra rolls - glad we had a box of Kleenex in the car!! Also no soap for shower or any coffee. These things are minor, and I know each VRBO listing has different items provided, but these would have been nice. Enjoyed the Directv in the evening from the comfortable futon. We wish we could have stayed more than one night and would definitely book here again.

Perfect small cabin/cottage in Lake City
Exactly what we were looking for in Lake City. Cute, Quaint, and cozy are terms I would use to describe Rocky Rose. Located right next to Henson Creek and 1/4 mile from confluence with Lake Fork river. Property office is right next door. Tannah was very easy to work with. Lake City is a great walking town, this property lies at the Southern Edge of town, just off the main drag.
What we liked: Lake City in general, great King Size bed (perfect softness and plenty of pillows), coziness of the cabin, deck areas on the cabin, parking right next to front door, and sitting outside at night. What we didn't like: unfortunate barking dog at night in the RV Park in back of us.
Perfect for exploring Engineer Pass, fly-fishing, outdoors areas around LC, and just being outside in a mountain town. This is mainly a 2 person cabin, good for couples. Eateries in town are dog friendly and outdoor enthusiast friendly. We especially like Southern Vittles and PAcker Saloon. Town is VERY walker friendly.
We would stay again anytime, especially if we have a few more days to explore.
Excellent host, very nice, helpful, courteous, excellent communication. One of the best hosts I’ve ever encountered. Highly recommend staying at any and all of her properties! Will definitely be back again.
Cozy little place. Nicely renovated on the inside. My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay.
Property manager was very responsive taking care of some minor issues. (unlike at some other VRBOs)
A bit noisy with the OHVs on main road through town, but it was cool enough that we could keep the windows facing the road closed.
