We stayed in Maison Colombage for three weeks in September 2017 and felt very well, similar to our first stay there in 2015. We love the secluded location of the house close to the river Tarn and far away from traffic and noise. The interior decoration in the tastefully restored old house is fantastic with antique furniture and plain brick walls. So the label "Maison de Charme " is really appropriate. The garden, however small, is lovely with its swimming pool and nice shady veranda. So you do not have to sit in the burning sun, but can relax in the shade.
Durestat is a very good starting point for excursions into all directions. Among other places we enjoyed Montauban, Castres, Rodez, Villefranche de Rouergue, Sauvetrerre de Rouergue, St Antonin Noble Val, Montricoux with the beautiful Marcel Lenoir Museum and of course Albi and Gaillac, which are a bit closer. Shopping is very easy with all sorts of supermarkets in Gaillac and the wonderful market in Albi.
We really enjoyed our stay and will perhaps return again some other year.
