My husband and I stayed here with our 3 children (ages 4, 2 and 1) and my mother in January 2014. The villa was perfect for the kids - they loved the bunk beds, the swinging hammocks and all the toys, inside and outside, and the pool was a lovely temperature. The car, with all the car seats, was also very handy.
My mother and I enjoyed walking down to Lajares in the mornings for a coffee and to pick up groceries and fresh pain au chocolate. The village has everything that you need, including supermarket, pharmacy, cash point, bakery, cafes and children's playground.
We took the kids to the beach in nearby Corralejo (which was perfect for sandcastles and paddling) and enjoyed a sunset meal in El Cotillo. We didn't feel the need to venture far as the kids were so happy at the villa, but no doubt there are loads of beautiful beaches etc nearby that we didn't discover! We did spend a day at Oasis Park in the south of the island though… pricey (as these things always are) but we loved how you could feed the animals, so we really got up close to the giraffes, elephants etc. It was a beautiful park and not at all busy.
The only downside was that the weather was a bit cooler than I would have liked, but you can't control that!
