Do not book this property!
We had planned to stay at this place for 4 nights but immediately upon check in we realized the place was moldy smelling. Probably hadn't been occupied in a while. When we checked in the property manager was not sure how to deal with electrical problems or WI-FI issues. To his credit he tried, but was new to the job.
We left early the next morning. I contacted the manager before we left but did not call VRBO. Didn't know we were supposed to do that. Now I'm stuck between the anonymous owner and VRBO trying to get a refund. Looks like this won't happen.
I am sure the owner or property manager will defend their actions as the manager told me today the place didn't smell and we should have asked them to fix the problem. Doubtful they could have gotten rid of the mold smell.
We learned a lot about VRBO during this fiasco...for one thing, their customer service is awful. I contacted them 3 times and each time the call was dropped and no one called me back or emailed me, despite having that information. I doubt I will use VRBO again.
Sign me disgruntled!
