It’s such a joy when you show up to a rental and the pictures don’t do the property justice. Unfortunately, in this case, it was the other way around. The house didn’t do the pictures justice. Though there was ample space and the house is located very close to town, the house was run down and every detail besides the view and spaciousness was BUDGET. Microfiber sheets, flat beds, old televisions with no smart app features (not the biggest deal but no fun movie time w the kids), scant and crusty scraped up Teflon pans, zero art on the walls, and though the photos make the house look sprawling with a great pool, it was not. Only one shower had a heater (that was installed with a gaping hole in the wall) and all the finished in the house were done poorly so it left it looking meh & dirty even though it was clean. The upstairs bedroom was the best part with a large picture window and amazing view from the bedroom and huge balcony. Sadly though, there was zero foliage so you just felt exposed and not in the lush tropical vibe that is Costa Rica. Also, they bothered to put a second chill out spot in the master bedroom but no working remote for the television so you couldn’t actually take advantage of it. The young man who met us and showed us the house was lovely and communication was easy. Even my kids thought it was meh. Bummed that it didn’t live up to expectations but it was fine enough for two nights and was affordable for the space.
