"This really is rural. It is in the middle of a forest down an unmade road 2 km to nearest village. It is a beautiful location. Host are generous and welcoming. We heard so many birds including owls and saw bats, and deer locally whilst visiting. The pool was a treat in the hot weather ( unheated for the strong hearted!) Situated in a lovely garden. Close to many other lovely Renaissance castles, romantic little towns and- of course - the Loire. The house was immaculately clean, perfectly equipped to accommodate a large group of adults, every bedroom with its own facilities- we had a marvelous time a d are thankful to ou gracious hosts."

"We stayed at Valerie’s beautiful Gite for a week in August, 7 of us in total, 4 adults, 2 young children and one toddler. The Gite is beautiful with a modern interior and a fresh airy feel - lovely garden and the perfect sized swimming pool for the children to stay safe. Lestiou is a quiet rural village with a nice snack bar just down the road and a car is essential for a stay here. Although the Nuclear power station is visible this didn’t impact our enjoyment. "The property met our needs, but there were some things that could have been better. On the upside, because we had young children along, the pool was a bonus. The donkeys, goats, chickens, and roosters were enchanting. On the downside, if someone wants to be close to the surrounding cities (Tours/Amboise) with pubs and restaurants, this is not the place. Also, the place needs some TLC and a good scrubbing."
