Cozy upper level, one-bedroom apartment located at a small marina called Chut’s Boat Landing. Chut’s Boat Landing is nuzzled in the beautiful back sloughs of the Mississippi River. From the windows and deck you can see incredible river views, sunsets and local wildlife. Tournament Fishing hot spot right outside your door and just a short drive to downtown La Crosse, restaurants, hiking, and Mt. La Crosse Ski Area and Pro Shop.

We enjoyed our stay in this quiet apartment. The apartment was very clean with a comfortable bed. The hostess had a variety of snacks, coffees, teas and toiletries available for us. We enjoyed our dinner on the deck with a view of the marina.

If you’re a couple looking for the absolutely perfect place to stay, this is it. Quiet, charming and a beautiful setting. A short drive to anywhere in the area. We loved every part of this place! Next time we come to La Crosse and this place isn’t available we’ll have to change dates. Thanks Emily for such a great space!

Weekend exploring La Crosse
Perfect sized space to land and launch from. Enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the Mississippi - truly a treat to have this included! Also enjoyed breakfast, reading, and watching the river from the covered deck.

Great small place
Perfect size place for what we needed. We were in town for state track, this was a short drive to the track and close to plenty of food options. Nice and clean. We had a little trouble with the door, but called and got a quick response. Very happy overall.

Quiet and secluded
Great place, very peaceful, quiet and secluded. Emily added many little touches to make it a home away from home. Everything from little snacks to toiletries, games and books. It was nice to have use of the garage space as well. We enjoyed our time here. She gave us great information on local places to eat. I recommend 4 Sisters! We would enjoy staying here again if back in the area.

Best of the Mississippi right at your back door.
Best vacation I’ve had, period. So comfortable and the view is fabulous. Bring your boat and have it ready to go whenever the mood moves you. The dock is just a few steps away. Grilling on the deck was a pleasure. Enjoyed many an evening watching the sun sink in the west. Come to LaCrosse, Wisconsin and enjoy all that is offered in the bustling community.

Emily was amazing and thoughtful in every way. Bedroom was large, love the surround sound, kitchen and bathroom had everything we could need and more. Although it was too cold to use the deck, it looked amazing to sit out and look at the river. Make sure to bring good shoes to load and unload your vehicle cause getting to it could be scarey especially with ice and snow but totally worth it. We highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The owners have done a good job of anticipating the needs of their guests, from snacks to toothbrushes. They were fixing the hot water while we were there. The hot water now works great. We appreciated the use of their kayaks. They also allowed us to use the garage. Very thoughtful and friendly people. We will definitely stay there again!

A Beautiful, Quiet, Retreat!
We were able to enjoy this unique property for a quiet get away. We went to the Mississippi River in early November to see the migratory water birds. We saw thousands of tundra swans feeding in protected waterways. The weather cooperated and we had clear skies and warm fall temperatures. The apartment is in LaCrosse so we could explore and take advantage of the city, but once you leave your car and take the steps to the apartment you can only see the water and the dock in this private retreat. The apartment was spacious, extremely clean, and comfortable. It was a memorable and completely enjoyable stay.

Hidden Gem
Highly recommend this property, even for families! I wouldn’t say this is completely open concept, more semi-private…the bedroom is on the opposite side of the wall from the main space, just a cased opening rather than a door. Emily is an amazing host that anticipates the needs of her guests, having many extras on hand. We booked for our family of 4 originally for one of my sons to compete in a tournament on the river. We ended up allowing the other son to bring a friend and also brought our 2 month old foster baby. There was ample space for all 6 of us. The teens had the main room with the sofa bed and air mattress Emily provided. Us parents and the infant had the bedroom, which also has a sitting area, and the deck to ourselves. Though the location of the property is in the town and surrounded by close neighbors, it actually feels very private and secluded once down to the house and on the covered deck. You overlook the boat landing, but that is not disruptive, actually enjoyable and entertaining at times. I rarely heard any noise other than river activity or critters (birds, otters and groundhogs to name a few we watched). The locals that live at the landing are helpful and friendly as well. The view from the house and deck overlooking the river is very relaxing! I am already missing it!! I highly recommend this property and will be back when in the area!

Beautiful apartment, great location, and tremendous views!
It is obvious that the owners have taken great care in putting together this rental. All of the work is top notch and well done. The furnishings and fixtures are beautiful, and it is supplied with everything you need—right down to condiments in the fridge, an ice pack in the freezer and cooler in the garage, and laundry detergent. Communication was good and the owners were responsive to questions, although a phone call would probably have gotten a quicker response than our email (which she actually had told us in her welcome email). We very much enjoyed taking the kayaks out for a paddle on the slough Sunday morning. It was quiet and peaceful and we got to see a crane on the shore of Green Island. We appreciated the maps of the slough so we knew where we were and wouldn’t get lost. We enjoyed the deck off the master bedroom and waking up to such beautiful views right from our bed! As she mentions in the listing, the ramp and stairs are a bit steep. There isn’t a lot of water pressure and it takes a while for the water to get warm (and the shower doesn’t get very hot) but she also told us that in her welcome email, and those things would not deter me from staying here again. My one suggestion is that the bed is quite hard, and I would recommend that perhaps a mattress topper might allow for a better nights’ sleep for this 58-year-old body. (I normally sleep on a fairly firm mattress at home, but this one is more than just firm.) We would definitely recommend this place, and would stay here again!

Chut’s Landing
We had a wonderful stay at Chut’s Landing in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. We loved the layout of the house, the decor, design, and use of space. It was so clean!! We loved the king bed, the comfy living room furniture, the WiFi, beautiful bathroom, wonderful kitchen, nice breakfast bar! We had a wonderful time. Emily & Rick have thought of everything. Your place is very well-appointed. It was very quiet& peaceful. Beautiful views. Very calm & relaxing. It made for a really welcoming stay. We hope to stay here again! Thank you very much!
