"We stayed as a party of 9 (4 adults, 4 teens and a 10 year old). I think it’s useful for other potential guests to know the following, based on our experience: 1. The 2 bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs are only suitable for small children or anyone under 3ft! They are basically loft rooms, no windows, I lost track of the number of times we banged our heads on the roof and trying to make the beds when you can’t stand up is difficult. 2. The location of the property is remote. The plot to the right...

"The property is right on the Portugal/Spain border which was what we were looking for to allow trips within both countries. It is located beside a Golf Course, a short drive from Ayamonte. The house was filled with just about anything you could need for the trip and had some of the basic essentials (spices, etc..) so you did not need to buy these for your stay. We had some pretty wild weather during our week which did some damage to the fence, but they came and temporarily repaired it right away...

"The villa had all the facilities we required. Lovely pool, comfy beds and plenty of space for everyone. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The villa is well situated and you can walk to beaches and restuarants but a car is ideally needed for shopping and to explore the area. The only thing to mention is the villa would benefit from a few more sunbeds or softer seating in the pool area as the current ones are short in number and getting a little tired. But it was a wonderful holiday...

"Lovely villa for a family getaway. Beautiful beach 10 minutes away, do need a rental car. Good supermarket in Castro Marim. We had the master bedroom the bathroom was a bit grimy round the wall edges but on whole a lovely holiday"

"Overall, the place was great, as advertised. Host was great and was available upon any requests. From a traveler who has used many Vrbo and others, as we come to Europe regularly, we did find it odd that basic needs were not left for the guests. Simple items like dish soap, dishwasher soap, extra toilette paper or paper towels, garbage bags or recycle bags/bins. When you are on the move for 2 weeks to a month, the need to purchase these items and carry them is difficult. Please do not get us...

"The villa certainly did not disappoint. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of space and particularly loved the outdoor areas with the lovely pool, hot tub, wraparound terrace with 2 outdoor tables, a number of sunbeds, umbrellas for shade and BBQ. The games room provided plenty of entertainment too. A very quiet area with a cluster of villas in the vicinity but not so close as to disturb each other. Views across the surrounding farm land were great for sunsets. We arrived at 11pm and John/Joao...

"The property was perfect for a lovely, relaxing holiday, with easy access to beautiful beaches in Spain and Portugal, groceries and essentials, and all of the comforts of home. The pool was fabulous. Hosts Gabby and Rod were super responsive. We would 100% recommend and would be so pleased to return. "

"The property was: clean, sunny, comfortable, and exactly as listed. For Americans used to street signs and wider roads, finding the house will be easier if you think of the street as an alley or drive. If uou plan to use the washer, be sure to get directions; we needed a bit of help with the hieroglyphics. Written directions in English world have been a bonus. But, again, we are just not familiar with EU appliances. There is also a wonderful Italian restaurant just a block down from the drive. "
