This is a small, homey B&B with a lovely host. The room was rather small and cramped - best for a short stay. The hospitality was warm and welcoming. The wonderful cooked breakfast is served in a lovely room overlooking the river. We enjoyed the conversation with other travelers at breakfast. We definitely recommend this B&B if you are traveling through the area.
This cute Gite had an excellent view, delicious breakfast and a wonderful host. It was on Highway 132 on the river. While slighly dated the welcoming host,Solange keeps it very clean. The only reason I have not rated it excellent overall is because the bedroom is a bit tight with slanted ceilings, it would be a bit difficult for someone with mobility issues to manage the stairs and decor could use a slight update . But it was perfect for us and price was very reasonable especially with the lovely cooked breakfast overlooking the river!
After a long 9 hour drive from Halifax, we were very disappointed to learn that our reserved room (one night stay to break up our driving) was given away to someone else when we checked in. The lady who runs the B&B appeared flustered and insisted that we were suppose to check in the next day but even her copy of the invoice said it was today. She then admitted thst she gave our room away, thinking that those guests were me and my bf. This case of mistaken identity could have all been avoided if she had asked for ID upon check in like all other places of accommodations!! To compensate for her mistake, she offered us her personal bedroom with a shared bathroom (to all guests) on the main floor. She just had to change the sheets in her bedroom.... After stepping out to discuss privately and check all the other accomodations nearby for vacancy, we had no choice but to take her offer as there was NOWHERE to sleep w/in a 1 hour radius of this b&b. Our original/reserved room was suppose to have a kitchenette, private bathroom, and a TV. Her bedroom had none of the above. It was simply a room with a bed. The shared bathroom allowed all other guests to be able to use as it was the main one on the main floor. We heard a few people come in to use it during the breakfast hours. The silver lining in this was that she only charged us half the price (thankfully) for her mistake. The house is old but cute and quaint. The lady seemed lovely with her other guests...
Beautiful setting. Owner was helpful and very friendly. Excellent breakfast.
Would like to have had a place to go for a walk (except on the road). There may have been one. I just didn't know about it.
Staff very pleasant, would have preferred ground floot rather then basement

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Lovely setting, no running water
It's a beautiful place that seems to be well run. The hostess neglected to tell me there's a problem with the water, which I discovered only when I was in the middle of bathing and the water simply stopped. It came back about 20 minutes later, but by that time I was dressed and out the door. The other somewhat irritating thing was that after I had made my reservation specifying the room would be for one adult and one child (age 9), and my reservation was approved and confirmed, I got a note from the hostess saying I had only paid for one person, and she asked if I still wanted the reservation. I said yes. My daughter and I showed up and stayed there, and all was fine other than running out of water. Then when I checked out, the hostess made a point of stating that she hadn't charged me for my daughter. Apparently she has a problem with Expedia not stating that the cost is per person.

Quaint
It's a nice place and the proprietress is very friendly. The room was downstairs, however, and there isn't very much headroom to get down there. I whacked myself pretty good on the top of my noggin going up the stairs in the morning to pay. She really tries not to make it not be like a basement, but it pretty much is.
This hotel was in an excellent location. The water is close by and the garden and yard are beautiful. Our host was really friendly and patient with our inability to speak french. Breakfast was AMAZING and totally worth paying for. The wifi was not functional but we got in some reading instead.
