How lovely it was to have this huge Victorian house to come back to every day after seeing the sights. We went up the Keeweenaw Peninsula, went to Porcupine Mountains, hiked to different waterfalls, fished from different spots (there are plenty!) enjoyed the beauty and closeness of Baraga Bay, and the town of L'Anse. We recommend driving around the bay to The Drive In- great burgers and some of the best chocolate custard we've ever had, and great prices. They all wore masks, were spraying and wiping down menus (plastic) after every use, and ran their butts off getting orders taken and bringing food to your car window. At the house, Therese, the property manager, was welcoming and so kind. She gave me a beautiful hand-made gift as a keepsake and remembrance as it was our 30th Anniversary. She gave us a map of the area and hints for places to check out. We wanted for nothing- the home is filled with everything you'll need. The towels were fluffy and absorbent, the bedding was so soft and clean, the laundry is upstairs and super convenient, laundry detergent, toilet paper, soap, paper towel- it's all provided which is rare and nice. The tv has satellite with Netflix to watch and loads of DVDs as well. Things were unplugged when we tried watching but luckily my husband knows what he's doing and knew what went where and got it hooked up. The wrap-around porch was lovely to sit out on when it was cooler and just relax with a drink. We also loved sitting on the white sofa and just enjoying the room. The AC cools the downstairs beautifully but you'll need the provided fans upstairs if it's hot when you stay. Worth it. :) If we ever come this far Up North again (and I hope we do) I'd definitely stay here again.
