"Nice onden clean, nice robes"

"I'm hesitant to recommend Takayama because one of its charms is that it is off the beaten track, and who wants more people there to spoil this? But, in truth, the town is a wonderful place, and this hotel was very good. We came from Tokyo so were delighted to find a very large room, very clean, and very comfortable. The hotel is right next to the train and bus station so could not be more convenient, and within easy walking distance of just about everything that Takayama has to offer, including eating places, the historic district, and museums and shopping. Hida Folk Village is about 1.2 km away, and easily accessible by bus, but we decided to walk. Definitely worth looking at. The historic district is fantastic and the main shopping street very interesting. The staff at the hotel were friendly and approachable, and the room super comfortable. There are no breakfast options, but there is an excellent coffee/breakfast place next door. All in all, an excellent experience in Takayama itself and at this hotel."

"We loved our stay here - our room was large and comfortable and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect - so close to the station but also walkable distance to all the main sights. Only downside to our room was that there are no windows to open and the one window was frosted. Beware that while there are lifts inside, it’s about 30 steps up to reception which can make for a challenging time with luggage! "

"Hotel was well clean and close to a 7/11 and restaurants. The front desk lady spoke Spanish which made it easy for me to communicate with since I don’t know Japanese. She was amazing and very helpful. 5 star to her too"

"Located very close to JR station, convenient for taking bus to other cities. Not very close to sight seeing spots within the city, about 15 minutes walk, but is acceptable. Next to the hotel is a very famous hida beef restaurant. Very nice!"
